Mda Sell Completed

Sabre Crew Track message from the desk of Lyle Hogg....

We have recently been advised that the transaction to sell the EMB 170 aircraft
to Republic Airways has been completed. Classes at Republic will resume on
September 27, 2005. Shortly, you will receive a letter outlining the vacancy
processing guidelines and a MDA Preference Form for pilots wishing to accept
positions at Republic Airways.

This issue has been a very emotional one for all involved. Please try to keep
your discussions on this matter out of the cockpit, particularly during the
sterile cockpit environment.

Thanks for your patience as we work our way through this process. Above all
else, please be safe.

Lyle Hogg
Senior Director Flight Operations

so MDA is still up and running, only that they sold their aircraft ?
now is that ALL of their aircraft ?
i hope they will come back witht he E170 again
i love that plane so much, never been on it tho

Well I'll say this..they are consistent. If the TCC fights and loses this...somebody tell me there's a limit to how many planes REP gets (25) and they get no more...EVER. And also please tell me that the New U will hold ALL remaining Large SJ flying to mainline...elsewixe I cant sleep at nite now.

Yesterday, US Airways senior vice president of flight operations Lyle Hogg sent the following message to all MDA pilots. “We have recently been advised that the transaction to sell the EMB 170 aircraft to Republic Airways has been completed. Classes at Republic will resume on September 27, 2005. Shortly, you will receive a letter outlining the vacancy processing guidelines and a MDA Preference Form for pilots wishing to accept positions at Republic Airways, Hogg said.

Yesterday ALPA MEC communications committee chairman Jack Stephen said on the code-a-phone, “The MEC office has been receiving inquiries from Mainline and MDA pilots on the time, location and transportation availability for the arbitration of MEC 05-06-04 (MDA/Wexford Transaction).â€￾

“This arbitration will be held from August 29th through September 1st at the Crystal City Marriott's Salon B, starting at 10 a.m. The hotel is located at 1999 Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, VA. Pilots who wish to attend in uniform may take a shuttle that runs every 15 minutes from DCA to the Crystal City Marriott. The hotel is also on the Metro Line,â€￾ Stephen noted.

Did anybody tell Lyle that there's an Arbitration beginning on the 29th which may or may not determine how MDA Pilot's go to Republic?

It's a little premature to send out J4J preference forms. Or did the Arbitrator rule already?

Here is the exact propeganda letter sent to the MDA pilots. Look at the dates..... We are short pilots, and they are thinking of furloughing AND sending 20 to class two months before we lose the first airplane? Also, this does not say the sale is complete, it says it is "now being concluded".

Give me a break......

ALL OR NONE!!

August 25, 2005

To all MidAtlantic Pilots:

After continued discussions over the last several weeks, the
agreement to sell our
EMB-170 aircraft to Republic Airways is now being concluded. We are
forecast to reduce our fleet by three aircraft per month beginning
November 1, 2005. By this letter , we are announcing that
indoctrination classes at Republic will resume on September 27,
2005. This first class will consist of 10 Captain positions and 10
First Officer positions. All preference updates must be received no
later than midnight, September 8, 2005. This and future classes
will be offered first to MidAtlantic pilots followed by pilots on
the APL list using the attached Republic Airways Vacancy Processing
procedures.

Unfortunately, as this process unfolds, we will be forced to begin
the furlough of excess MDA pilots by early October. Along with this
furlough, several excess Captains will also be moved to First
Officer positions.

We understand that this process has been very stressful for everyone
involved. Please do all you can to keep discussions on this issue
out of your cockpit and continue to operate as safely as you
possibly can. Everyone has done a remarkable job dealing with these
issues to date, please don't let your guard down now.

Thanks for all the effort everyone continues to put forth.

Please fly safe,

Sr. Director Flight Operations

Republic Airways Vacancy Processing Procedures

MidAtlantic Vacancy Processing

1. All applicable vacancies will first be offered to MDA pilots
in seniority order. Pilots wishing to accept positions at Republic
may do so by sending a MDA Preference Form included in this
mailing. Preference updates can be made by submitting an updated
preference form prior to the deadline for filling vacancies in a
particular class.
2. A MDA pilot will be placed on the APL upon receiving a
notice of furlough from MDA and will be eligible for APL Vacancy
Processing as described below.
3. Pilots are required to update all personnel information by
submitting a change of address/status form to MidAtlantic HR and
Scheduling. (Forms are available on theHub)

APL vacancy Processing

1. Using the procedures outlined in the Jets for Jobs Overview,
vacancies not filled by MDA pilots will be offered to those APL
pilots who have expressed a preference to accept employment at
Republic Airways. An APL pilot who has expressed a preference to
accept employment at Republic and subsequently passes on a class
will be placed on a Bypass List. If there are still positions
vacant when reaching the most junior pilot who has expressed a
preference, those vacancies will be offered in reverse seniority
order to pilots on the Bypass List. APL pilots not accepting
vacancy at this point will be removed from future eligibility for
the position being offered at Republic Airways.
2. Remaining vacancies will then be offered to APL pilots who
did not express a preference to accept employment at Republic
Airways. These pilots will be notified of any remaining vacancies
via a letter. Pilots not accepting an available position will be
removed from future eligibility for the position that was available
at Republic Airways.
3. If after completion of the above steps vacancies remain,
those vacancies will be forfeited and returned to Republic Airways
to be filled by a pilot on the Republic Airways seniority list.
4. APL Pilots are required to update all personal information.
You may do so by sending email to j4j@usairways.com or may indicate
the new information on your preference form.

NOTE:
Ø Vacancy Processing Schedules will be posted on theHub and
ALPA Website
Ø MDA pilots are contacted for vacancies via phone numbers
listed with MidAtlantic and APL pilots are contacted for vacancies
via personal information listed in CATS
Ø The first 140 MDA/APL pilots accepting positions at Republic
Airways shall have their relative bidding seniority (i.e. bidding
seniority as compared to other US Airways pilots, but not to other
pilots employed by Republic Airways) reflect their positions on the
US Airways Pilot System Seniority List based on a class date of July
18, 2005.

There is no need to be insulting. Those of us that work at CHQ/REP/S5 do not think of it as a Sh*tbad operation.

I would like to remind you that saying that our pilots are unsafe is not acceptable. How dare you insult us with that. Have you even checked our safety record? We have NEVER had a fatality in the 30 years of our operation, and we continue to strive to keep our safety record that way. Your being angry because of the loss of the E170's is understandable; however, your implication that we are unsafe pilots is just wrong.

Please post your name on here so I will know exactly who you are if I should ever see you!!!!!

You are an insult to all the pilots at U and MDA...
[post="292788"][/post]
You are entitled to your own opinion, as am I.....I have previously worked for Chq, Mesa, Mainline, and MDA. Trust me....CHQ is a joke to the airline industry, leading the race to the bottom. You and others have nothing to compare you career to other than your 18 month upgrade to your "shinny new jets"

AND I NEVER SAID YOUR CREWS WERE UNSAFE!!! Completely inexperianced, when you pay a FO 18K a year to fly a 70 seat airplane guess what your going to get???? The MDA crews average about 10000 hours of flying time, where the some chq crews do not meet the insurance requirements to upgrade. To offer jobs to 50% of our crews staple to the bottom sign a training contract and share hotels rooms is proof that your company is a SH*TBAG operation.

As far as your threating remarks about the next time you see me..........I guess I should expect that from a collage grad.

Oh Yeah....God Bless

If the Republic – MDA transaction has be completed then why has there been no press release? Moreover, the company never discusses furloughs in an email message. Instead furloughs are announced on a Permanent Bid. Why this new form that attempts to elevate FUD?

The timing of Lyle’s message is suspect since it was released the business day before ALPA’s arbitration hearing on LOA 91 starts. ALPA is fully prepared for the start of tomorrow’s hearing and I suspect there is an ulterior motive behind Lyle’s message.

US Airways may no longer desire to sell MDA, but the Arlington-based company has a signed agreement and unless there is bankruptcy court intervention, the only way out of the contract is for Republic to pull out of the deal and US Airways grant its request.

I suspect there is more to the story and we will learn more this week.

Meanwhile, I would like to emphasis Jack Stephen’s comment on Friday’s code-a-phone when he said, “The MEC office has been receiving inquiries from Mainline and MDA pilots on the time, location and transportation availability for the arbitration of MEC 05-06-04 (MDA/Wexford Transaction). This arbitration will be held from August 29th through September 1st at the Crystal City Marriott's Salon B, starting at 10 a.m. The hotel is located at 1999 Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, VA. In conclusion, I suspect there is more to the story and Lyle’s message becasue ALAP has a strong arbitration argument. Will the union win the grievance? I do not know, but it has an excellent chance to succeed.

This is such an unfortunate situation that is happening to our fellow co-workers.
I have been trying to tell everybody this was coming for over a week now and everybody slammed me as saying I was misinformed. To all you "nay sayers"....I don't ever say anything unless I know it as fact. Hence the thread "Republic Deal Complete dated Aug 18th.
Goodgirl....things do come across my desk.
Again, sorry to all of my flying friends...hang in there. 🙂

TRAYTABLE - dude we all know you -

ALPA wins the arbitration and the company will just make a visit to their friendly BK Judge.

In regard to the MDA-Republic deal, two business day’s before the ALPA grievance hearing US Airways senior director of flight operations Lyle Hogg sent an electronic message to all MDA pilots. Hogg said, “After continued discussions over the last several weeks, the
agreement to sell our EMB-170 aircraft to Republic Airways is now being concluded.â€

Hogg did not say that the deal was “completeâ€, but that it was “being concludedâ€. Then Hogg went on to give an aircraft transfer schedule, new class information, MDA preference form information, and furlough news, for a deal that “is now being concluded.â€

Then yesterday during the ALPA grievance hearing under sworn testimony, US Airways’ lawyer said that the deal had not been completed.

Now we learn that Republic announced today that it has acquired three Embraer 170 aircraft previously committed for delivery to US Airways, which have been sitting in Brazil for months. However, why did Republic not announce they have acquired the 25 EMB-170s that are currently being flown by MDA?

See Story

In my opinion, Hogg’s message was FUD trying to get MDA pilots to transfer to Republic, ALPA’s case for a LOA 91 violation is gaining strength, and the MDA transfer has not been completed. In my opinion, this whole mess may not have reached this point if the Chautauqua/Republic pilots had agreed to honor US Airways ALPA’s LOA 91.

Subject: REPUBLIC AIRWAYS MESSAGE FROM LYLE HOGG

We have recently been advised that the transaction to sell the EMB
170 aircraft to Republic Airways has been completed. Classes at
Republic will resume on September 27, 2005. Shortly, you will
receive a letter outlining the vacancy processing guidelines and a
MDA Preference Form for pilots wishing to accept positions at

Sounds pretty definite to me. They would not know the truth if it bit them in the rear. They lied and we caught them, they must learn that the pilots at MDA have had enough of the lies, and will not be bullied anymore. They might kill us off but we will not pull the trigger for them anymore!!

ALL or NONE!!
