Merger Partner - ALL US Merger Talk Here

A merger is not gonna happen for us poor souls at US/HP. We will be sold off in pieces. Put aside the wishful thinking and you will realize that is the most likely outcome.

Southwest does not had a good reputation with merges look what they have done to Muse and ATA, you would not see a penny and they would not want and US employees just gates and equipment as they did in Midway with ATA.

Another blathering of useless emotional garbage from a self proclaimed oracle.
Pot, meet kettle.

The only thing holding it up is a small group of senior NW pilots who want to staple the Delta pilots.
This lie is beneath even your usual pitiful standards. No one at NW is trying to staple the DL pilots. They are trying to prevent a slot that ignores the relative ages of the two groups. A relative position slot, desired by DL, would eventually make the 747, 777, and A330 C/O positions the exclusive domain of DL pilots. Not gonna happen.
There is nothing small or senior about the group pushing for this, either. The senior guys are already in the widebody seats, and thus have the least to lose. It's the juniority that would be shut out. Talk to some NW pilots before spewing your nonsense.

Plus DL has already said that no hubs will close and they are not looking to reduce capacity or furlough.
Looks like you've done some serious research on this and found the statement to be true. Were you born yesterday? Like the executives are going to announce hub closures just as they begin a push to get political backing for the deal.

So try again oh wise one.
Do tell.

What would WN possibly want with the also-ran that is US? Face facts, US' dance card is as empty as the fat, zit-faced, booger-picking nerd's at the Dubuque High School prom. Maybe a few pieces and parts can be excised and still be attractive, but the whole thing combined is malignant.

I have it from an insider at WN who is rather high up their food chain that they are in stitches over this rumor. Put it to bed. It has no merit.

I thought reduced capacity was the whole reason for this merger-mania!

So tell me -- where is the value created?

We've been bamboozled again by the legacy carriers!!

There are so many reasons why this is a joke. The writer obviously wanted to sell some future papers so he threw the line in their.

The WN business model has been successful for a number of reasons, those reasons fly right smack in the face of US, among them are fleet, employee morale, price, and customer satisfaction.

EXACTLY!!! There is no way in he!! WN would just merge straight away with US. Way too many issues. Now buying pieces along with interviewing and hiring some of the employees or entering into some type of agreement like they have with TZ is much more likely. You can look back as recently as Morris Air to see how that worked.

Actually that's not true. The value is in pricing power and elimination of redundant infrastructure.

LUV LCC merger? Don't make me laugh. First, Congress will rip it apart. Lets not get into all the other scenarios, and go to the fact that SouthWest and US Airways are kind of like mortal enemies. Dr. LUV tends to rescue the hubs that LCC leaves either voluntarily or under low-airfare pressures.

Those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it...

Remember this?

This?

How about this?

Oldie but goodie!

Always ask how high they want you to jump!

Always SLEEP with your enemy!!!

So in conclusion, IMHO, US Airways will be destroyed if it merges with SouthWest. Sleeping with the enemy will only screw the expendible little people. LUV has the upper hand and LCC is the brown-noser!

WN's business plan requires a symbiotic relationship with legacy hub and spoke carriers. As WN matures and legacy carriers evolve, there are fewer opportunities for WN's business plan to exploit new markets to keep low cost growth going. So WN is eventually going to have to evolve in to something different. I don't have a vision of how that would involve a full scale merger with US, but that's because I don't know what I'm talking about.

Already, WN operates hub-like operations across the country.

You gotta hand it to WN. They just go where the money is.

Look up their route map. It looks like a series of mini-hubs.
