Ryan is quite good at telling the media how he wants to be portrayed, instead of them, you know, actually analyzing his record.

BTW Tom, I find it interesting that he wants to eviscerate Medicare (and SSN), yet voted for Part D. He's also already been an SSN recipient. And as Tree noted, he also voted for the TARP bailout, which certainly falls in the "big government" category.

For our anti labor friends on the board, he's also consistently voted to protect Davis-Bacon ('course, it's worth noting that he has family interests in construction)...

BTW, did you mean the 700B that is slated to be accomplished not by cuts per se, but by slowing the growth rate in spending? The slowing that is to come from reducing overpayments, and a crackdown on fraud/abuse? that 700?
