This is another example of why the PIT hub should not have been closed! PIT could handle this and the airline wouldn't grind to a halt! No way would my PIT-LGW or PIT-FRA cancel because of a blizzard....we were better than Trans Global!

If US had kept the PIT hub open, the company would have been out of business by now.

As it pertains to

There are also some reserve provisions for when irregular ops have been declared - they're in the basic contract and go back to when it was ratified (1998?).

There may be others, but I've only got the basic contract and LOA's 91 and 93.

I was involved in one declaration of irregular ops a few years before the merger. I guess NYC and a320av8r just missed the times it was declared.

A young guy from Wisconsin moves to Florida and goes to a big everything-under-one-roof department store looking for a job.

The Manager says, 'Do you have any sales experience?'

The kid says 'Yeah. I was a salesman back in Wisconsin.'

Well, the boss liked the kid and gave him the job. 'You start tomorrow. I'll come down after we close and see how you did.'

His first day on the job was rough, but he got through it. After the store was locked up, the boss came down. 'How many customers bought something from you today?' The kid says, 'One.'

The boss says, 'Just one? Our sales people average 20 to 30 customers a day. How much was the sale for?' The kid says, '$101,237.65.'

The boss says, '$101,237.65? What the heck did you sell?'

The kid says, 'First, I sold him a small fish hook. Then I sold him a medium fishhook. Then I sold him a larger fishhook. Then I sold him a new fishing rod. Then I asked him where he was going fishing, and he said down the coast, so I told him he was going to need a boat, so we went down to the boat department, and I sold him a twin engine Chris Craft. Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it so I took him down to the automotive department and sold him that 4x4 Expedition.'

The boss said, 'A guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a BOAT and a TRUCK?'

The kid said, 'No, the guy came in here to buy tampons for his wife, and I said, 'Dude, your weekend's shot, you should go fishing...

I could think of a few possible dates; New Years 1990, March of 1993 and then perhaps one of the ice storms in CLT (1995?). Good times, as long as the hotel doesn’t run out of beer.

Ah but just like the other provisions (read pay rate expiration with out reverting to loa 84 rates) dont plan on any reserves to operate under any previous rules without the previous pay....simple enough concept...
What part of that does anyone not get?

The big storm in CLT. Ended up flying around Florida for 2 days before they said "go to the hotel, we'll call you." I'm sure you remember that it was that storm when they lost track of the airplanes and crews.

Oh, please. Give it up already. PIT is gone. Get over it.
If anyone is familiar with an old thread called the Galley Show that had oh, 5 bazillion posts, one would remember that Gloria was a frequent poster. Recalling those glory days in "Picksburg" was her forte.

Finally found the stuff Turncoat Mayer is talking about in Section 25F (for east pilots.) Meaningless drivel. The company does this crap whenever it wants to anyway, irregular ops declaration or not.

About the only meaningful part is that there are no crew substitutions for the last live leg of a trip. How often does that happen anyway?

The big change in the underlying contract is for reserves and is in LOA 28 which was agreed to in 1998.
