What consequences might those be? Most certainly nothing severe enough to get his attention. On July 26, 2010 the petition asking for the suspension of the tentative agreement was turned over to new local 514 President Sam Cirri who was flying to NYC July 28, 2010 to meet with the TWU International to express membership concerns over the tentative agreement and the International's role in allowing it to be brought back.
I told Sam to use the petition like a stiletto knife when explaining our concerns about their sponsoring this concessionary agreement. The letter to Mr. Little explaining our objections was at the top of the stack of signatures.
We were able to turn in over 2200 signatures. Thank you very much for your efforts. Although ballots were mailed out I still believe our petition had a major impact. I believe this tentative will fail and when our negotiators go back to the table they will know the angst of a membership betrayed.
We are sick and tired of being sold out by our own International.
They will represent our best interests or suffer the consequences.
