What's new

NEW PHL CHIEF PILOT

explain to me how the shuttle guys would benefit from a termination rather than freeze?
I'm not seeing much benefit from my end?

Let me see here.

Say, vested with ten or fifteen years with DB plan vs termination into a group 3.

Being too stupid to know you were screwed by MEC pilots close to retirement is weak too.

When did your nemesis retire? Did you write it down somewhere?

I don't recall that he was on the MEC as a voting member during the time you say.

Pilots pension was terminated what in 2003, it had nothing to do with the merger in 2005. The pensions that were terminated in 2005 were to further the merger.

and you can prove they were not talking in 2003?

Traitor, like I said….the last idiots I would ask would be our ALPA pension committee..long on FPL and short on smarts.

There were calls for a B plan as early as 1985..maybe earlier..but to be clear none of us saw that whole “airplanes flying into buildings” thingy coming. ?
The R&I advised the MEC more than once that the plan needed to be frozen long before the first bankruptcy.

They were smarter than you and John Davis.

Your personal attack is pure fantasy.

East fighting east - now that's a good show.

You people crack me up.

I do not know Pollack from Bebe from Yarko.

But here is a little food for thought. If Pollack was an ALPA rep at least you have someone who was a pilot advocate at one time.

Look at the bright side, they could have sent John Scherff over to serve the east troops, he already has all your addresses.

Now that would have been a classic.

With "pilot advocates" like Pollack in management, who needs Jerry Glass?

I'm sure Glass was happy to get Pollack over on his side, a little tit for tat. Poor Pollack stuck on the 190 in PHL, at least the majority of f/o's he flew with had no clue what he had done, though I would imagine some of the WO guys knew his name.

Wouldn't it be great if a welcoming party was put together for Pollacks first day on the job??? They could get banners and cake and ice cream and make a whole day out of it.......Kill two birds with one stone?

This runs along the same lines of Worthless not returning to NWA and ending up with a Sr. VP position of Airline relations inside a new company which, WOW was owned in equal parts by all the major airlines, Talk about major pay back bones. Now I believe he is a special US envoy to ICAO or some crap like that. Seems weird this generation of alpa men, all serviing, and ending up on the management side, speaks volumes doesn't it?

and, the MEC, including you, did what? Hello? You, specifically, did what? Pick your arse? Eat it? What, exactly, did you do?

Iclubbabyseals,

What's your opinion of the information presented in Pension Fact #1 and Pension Fact #2 above?

In addition, how about the R&I committee and ALPA National R&I strongly recommending the "roll call" MEC freeze the DB Plan and create an "A and "B" Plan...only to see the MEC keep this information inside in closed session, hide the advisro information, and then watch the pilots lose the entire plan against ALPA's advice?

USA

As I said, to which you, as usual, seem to ignore, those are opinions and not facts, as you presented.

and, how are you privy to information from a "closed session"? since you were never a representative. and, are you saying ALPA advised not to give up the plan, do you have proof?

I've been to 3 ALPA meetings in my life, never held any office.

The retirement fund was for all of us, not just the senior guys who walked with million dollar lump sums.

Enjoy your PBGC check, you deserve it.
