The seniority list integration has been completed AND officially accepted by the company. True, it is in dispute and true, it won't be implemented until a combined contract is in place.
The list will ALWAYS be in dispute, no question but, it IS the list.
It WILL one day be implemented when the east finally accepts the fact that they cannot undo a final and binding arbitration and realize that continuing to argue that is pointless.
Until then west pilots will continue earning 17% more pay and enjoying much better work rules. In doing so we will remain stagnated while the east benefits from additional international flying and garnishes their attrition. It appears that both sides accept their own costs as those of doing business.
Hold on a second here Ames.
The West has never accepted the current situation as a satifactory one. It was not the West that walked out of negotiation. It was not the West that sought to renege on its obligations. Unlike the dual unionist who proposed it prior to usapa's election, the West never sought to force seperate operations.
The West has never accepted the out of seniority furloughs, and job theft that the east has accomplished as a "cost of doing bussiness". The cost that has been thrust upon the West will be recouped, and the date for the start of damages is Aug 2008.
That is why the company will not touch usapa's list. The company absolutely will not be on the hook for hundreds of millions in lost wages and damages that usapa has cost the West.
Also, the West has no control over the process. east posters here say, why don't you West guys quit suing so we can get a contract, then you can sue all you want. Well, the problem is, it is not the West's lawsuit, it is the company's. Further, there is no means for the West to "accept" anything, nor is there a means for the West to acquiesce to usapa'a demands.
No, the West does not accept the situation as a cost of doing bussiness, usapa does, and they put as much of that cost on the West as possible.
