Newark Merger Integration Test City

Newark Merger Integration Test City

On August 1 America West will move its Newark ATO and Operations to US Airways' gates. US Airways currently leases four gates with one sub-leased to Independence Air, one will be used by America West, and two will be used by US Airways. The merger integration team will test a joint CRS, IT, Customer Service, Gate, Ramp, Maintenance, and Operational procedures at Newark prior to full scale implementation by the new US Airways.

With all due respect, I wrote a generic column regarding Newark and the city being selected as the test city for the merger. That's it...no more, not less.

Looks pretty specific to me.

700UW:

You're pretty good at being argumentative, but with all due respect, that's it. My initial post listed generic areas and Hope777's was more specific. Nonetheless, I talked with the Station Manager as my source.

By the way, you failed to answer my question. In case you missed it let me ask you it again.

700UW, is there a better Newark source (than the Station Manager)?

Yes I all ready answered it, but let me repeat it, Hope777 who actually spends 5 days a week there and not absent like the so-called manager.

I believe Hope777 does have a better source as he has told us before he works in EWR.

Having comprehension problems?

700UW:

O.K., I did not realize that was your answer to my question. My point is I believe the Station Manager receives the merger integration information before Hope777, thus he is a better source than Hope777 on what and when will it occur in regard to the points I listed above to begin this topic.

The point of this thread was simple -- Newark is the merger integration test city and will be used to evaluate different ways of doing business to identify "best practices", which I understand is the single most important point for the Merger Integration Team(s).

I have 700 on ignore, but I assume he's AGAIN arguing with no apparent point... contradicting with no apparent substance. IS there ANY requirement to actually bring substance to an incessant argument in a thread? Does he hold a point in his head that he fails to get into his postings? Is he confronting for the sake of confronting? I cant figure it out.

Can you add to the topic or do you just post ramblings?

HP ramp is handled by Northwest in GEG. Not sure about the CSR's? We also used to handle them (ramp and CSA's) in BOI, but I don't think we do any longer.

Newark has been run by its agents for years now.It actually runs bettrer that way.Our only problem is that if need anything done and need managers endorsement ,well good luck.Plus out of the 2 days we are graced by him its bankers hours... and im not saying comerce bank hours. I've been talking to quite a few HP agents who have come over to get a feel for our end of the terminal. And I can't wait for Doug to take the reins of this puppy.Unfortunatly I won't be here i'm EO bound. As HOPE was saying, this managment team at US sure knows how to blow money. From paying for pushbacks to contracting maint on AC. Worst of all one of the Great Blunder Creators is on the transition team......Hint:Recaro Seats, Business Select. He should have gone with that whole fiasco.I worked along side many of the HP employees who worked at National Airlines who rented our Ctr space till there demise a few years back.Their manager is experienced and will be able to get the max out of the workforce without treating the like a number.
Part of our whole problem is that US became a cold unfriendly place, to the passengers and the employees. They (management) felt the pax had now choice and would fly us.

HP is listed as using CO gates in BDL. No other info of the BDL HP operation than that...

In regard to my job it’s not important to know who does the ground handling work – what is important for my job is commanding an aircraft and operating it safely.

It's not your job to know, so why discuss it.

And no one else cares who flies the aircraft. Therefore your job will be taken by a commuter airline pilot within the next two years.

700,

Maybe they'll be testing whether the phone works if an AWA plane needs maintenance....

B.B.
I think you may have meant for this to be a funny but, in many areas the world class folks at SABRE provide the communications. Checking the phone is a damn good idea.

Truthfully I know absolutly nothing about the station manager at EWR, but,
If he is a kool aid drinker like some others then the answer is YES.

WOW....some ppl really need to know when to shut the blank up and just take it.

HOPE is right on this, but there is a place that is going to be moved together before EWR, but no intergration will happen in that station like EWR right now.

EWR is special, then again HOPE and the HP Stn Mgr are specail too, because they know what they are doing.

Don't believe rumors or the news media, they are right 10% of the time and 9.9% of that is twisted around. HP is keeping their employees up to speed with FACTS as they are pertinant to the issue at hand.

If this is how ppl are going to act, I don't think any of us want or care to have them around when this is all done.
