No water for employees in CLT

You need water???

Ask a flight attendant.

I'll give you all the bottled water you need. It's yours.

It's hotter than the seventh ring of hell out there and I will not stand there and let my fellow workers pass out from the heat. Drink it...pour it over your head if needed....I don't care.

In PHX for the gates, tkt cntr, pac/special services, bso; water may not be consumed nor stored in public view. They have filtered water dispensers available in the break rooms but cups are not provided - have to use your own bottles which, since we can only get thru via the checkpoints, must be empty when you come in. Management has said that we are not to accept bottled water from the FAs as those bottles are for passengers only.

I bad-mouth PHX but at least they have a person on light duty driving around on the ramp with gatorade on a cart. You can fill up with water in the break rooms. At my sultry station down south, we are provided with free gatorade. Some of the guys make it too strong so that it hurts my teeth but we still appreciate it.

Can't blame management in Tempe so much as you can blame the big bosses in CLT. Sounds like they are just cheap.

My company switched over to filtered water dispensers a few weeks ago. While the water does not taste as good as the Arrowhead water we have enjoyed since I started working here 18 1/2 years ago, it is certainly an acceptable "compromise" to be both fiscally and environmentally responsible.

Contract or no contract, I think it is the responsibility of every company to provide clean, safe, easy-to-access water for all employees. If US chooses not to provide disposable cups, then they should provide safe storage and easy access for employees to use their personal cups or mugs.

It's called "the cost of doing business."

Can you say, how does that 'spell bonus'?

in my station we have bottled water supplied to us and me personelly i bring ice tea!

In order to keep the other thread on topic I'm going to post this here with hopes that Clt management will wake up before it's to late.

The heat index's here are some where between 100-105 & no doubt where we work maybe more. The company is no longer supplying us water. Now there are fountains where people can go to if they make it there or we can bring our own water & refill at said fountains. FYI TSA is not taking employee water here that I've heard of as long as you don't use the checkpoint.

I plead with management to spend "a few bucks" on your employees & bring us water before something bad happens which in turn will cost the company.
Hey Harry
While Im not into bashing other employess, I have to ask why do you keep getting on here and saying things that just arent true? I can assure you that managment has never said they are no longer giving out water in clt. They no longer give out bottled water. But they do go around with coolers and let people get water. Now if you want to talk about the cleanliness in water out of a cooler, than you would have a ligitimate point. I have one question for ya? Why do you never find out from a steward or your grievance committee the answer to things before you supposedly get on here and act like you know what your talking about?

OUCH !

Good Grief Charlie Brown. the hot sun must be boiling down on your perfectly round head.

but concur with your last post

I always bring empty bottles from home, and fill them up in the airport from pubic water fountains. So, if this F/A offers you an unlabled bottle of cool water, you can certainly accept it.

Always hydrate heavily before and during your shift.

Cut back the last couple of hours so your body is ready to soak up that first beer.

I can't seem to edit the other post. While I can not speak for the entire ramp, last night (Monday) was the first time my work area has been given water. I can assure you that no one where I work had received water until last night. I'm sorry to say that much of the time we get passed over. So if I posted something that was not entirely correct, please accept my apology.

Harry,
talk to Bobby G. he collects 2.00 from everyone in the Bagroom once a week and brings
a ice chest with chilled Bottle water . Exclusively for the Bagroom folks. If you want the free stuff
I suggest you have the lead to request to the S/M to have the water wagon come by. I myself have
run water before and am guilty of bypassing the Bagroom thinking mainly of the folks in the bins or on
the end of the belt loading in the direct sun.
