Can we talk service?

Its EASY to verify on Continental.com.

Had a friend I knew was flying on CO 65, EWR - LAX on Sunday....15 of the 16 seats were sold at an F price.

15 of 16!

Easy to believe.

CO's pda site shows who was upgraded, and on the LAX-EWR-LAX flights, I have never seen more than 4 people TOPS clear the upgrade waitlist. Everybody else either purchases F, Y or B fares. It's unbelievable.

People actually pay for CO's premium cabin. In addition, CO offers very attractive "instantly upgradeable" transcon coach fares in the $900 range. When you search US's website for "instantly upgradeable" transcon coach fares, they are usually in the $1,600 - $1,800 range.

It is up to US whether or not they want to elevate their service to the level of CO and their other legacy competitors. But whatever service they provide up front, it must be priced accordingly or they will not be able to sell it.
