Just curious, if an employee is traveling on an ed-20 and wants to upgrade from coach to f/c, is an employee upgrade acceptable or will he/she pay the standard charge the day of departure?

No, you can not use an employee upgrade on an ed20

Happy New Year to All!!

Since this thread is here ... thought I might ask a question also. As a Retiree who has not non-rev'd in about 7 yrs., what does one have to do now to non-rev on another carrier. Last I knew was I had to go to a USAirways ticket counter and buy a non-rev (pass fee) ticket on the selected Carrier. In addition ... is there any website that I am missing that has all the info? In the "good-'ole Days" our Company sent this info to us! I have no idea what Carriers we may (as Retirees) have pass privileges(sp?)on!

Thanks for any assistance!

The hub lists the airline that we have zed agreements with. However the airlines that have ID fares are only listed in SABRE. They are not on the hub.

HP workers have all of their interline agreements listed on compass but they are mostly medium zed, US gets the low zeds with Star aaliance members.

The current information is somewhat out of date without new phone numbers and the new zed rates, $2 increase.

The NH number is now an insurance company.

The most up to date stuff are on Sabre sets.

Overall everything is supposed to be updated when the new combined interline agreements are debuted. I am hoping for business class zeds on LH.

After all if UA can get them why can't we?

Another non-rev Q.
According to todays US Daily- If you have an unused SA1 and book it prior to Jan 1 you can use it for one year.
Q- does that mean I can list SA1 for February 2007 and apply my 2006 SA1 to it?
Q- When I list for SA1 for my wife and myself it still shows 1 SA1 available. Does it list both of us as SA1 or do I have to list each separately?

Thanks

Yes, you can. I e-mailed the pass bureau a few weeks ago and confirmed that. So if you do have any SA1's left, book now and use within a year.

Also, if you have any passes left in your bank, you can book those for next year and pay for them now. If whomever has the passes wants to change the "ticket" they can and will pay only the difference in the Zone cost.

I have 2 SA1s left too, I asked a coworker, she said they will be gone 🙁

Sorry, but ....... what is a "zed"?? Been gone too long, do not even know all the Airline identifiers any more!

Zonal Employee Discount fares. They're slowly replacing the ID75/ID90 interline charges. For the most part, ZED's seem to be a better deal if they're available on a carrier you want. The charge is distance based instead of 75/90% off the full coach fare.

Speaking of non rev-ing. I just heard that jetblue will shortly begin charging USAir F/A's for F/A jumpseats on their airline. It's because USAirways didnt recipocate the flight attendant jumpseat policy.
I heard it will cost F/A's $25.00 to ride the jumpseats now.

why not recipocate the policy with them?

only stating opinions.

Ticket counter print ZEDs paper tickets. Listing is another deal though. Usually you have to call the carrier. LH and some, but not all, star alliance carriers direct you to flyzed.com to build the listing but you stil need to pay for and receive a paper ticket from a counter.

If you are an east retiree it has to be from an US ticket counter with sabre access. This is only found in stations served by US east metal

Ive used ZED fares on Thai and LH. It's a better deal than the ID90's and easy to print a ticket quickly at the ATO. And they're refundable if you dont use em or cant get on a flight, but Ive never had a problem getting on just about all OA that Ive listed for.

Wow!! .... Thank You Flyingcat and Boeing Boy for your help. Must admit that all sounds very complicated compared to the old OF-7 and simple counter tickets that I knew so well! Have no current travel plans, but sure would like to plan some in the New Year!

DOH is the way it was, and still should be!!!
