Non Rev Travel: By Seniority- Merged Topics

Hey east pilot kiss our A$$
:

Integration seems to be picking up speed lately. As I have experienced through 3 airlines and 2 mergers and heaven help me 2 bankrupties? the fear of change declines. I am very much looking forward to the changes that AWA and its culture brings to this company. As a west commuter to the east for 10 years I have seen the arrogance of the east at times, especially? in the early days. However, someone recently told me that the east was "defreaked" after the last round of downsizing and buyouts. After thinking about it for awhile I realized that they were right. I look forward to the changes that AWA brings to the table. These days there are probably more people like you back east than you might expect.

No way should a spouse or child get the same boarding priority as an employee who actually WORKS for the airline.

I disagree. My wife and son have weathered the storm with me - emotionally and financially - during round after round of pay cuts, office closures, furloughs, etc. They have earned the right to use my seniority. And my parents, who helped me with money every month so I could even be able to work for US in the first place because the starting pay was so low....they've also earned the right to benefit from my SA3 and 1989 hire date.

Gosh, I have been on a leave and had no idea how much hostility is out there.
no it's onpy because since thie delta deal is dead .now we can fight again with the phx and las employess. bunch of morons. and that was meant for both sides . east and west. grow up and stop acting like little kids. <_<

at least you are just a moron...i am apparently a loser...i'm still in therapy over that comment...people around me are supportive though...in fact my mom told me today that she is so proud of my accomplishments...being a US1 and all...

The CWA did not agree to, nor did we negotiate, any changes to our travel benefits.

Update-Januray 31, 2007-Be assured, we will be filing an expedited staff level grievance on our boarding priority which the company has decided to change and blatantly violate our contract with their announcement yesterday. Our contract is very clear, we board based on "date" of hire not "year" of hire. (See Article 8 of our CWA CBA.) We also have scheduled arbitrations for Immediate Family boarding and Retiree boarding violations. We will keep you posted on our progress.

US AIRWAYS SPECIAL BULLETIN PASS POLICY CHANGE

To All US Airways Mechanics and Related Employees:

The Union is in receipt of a publication put out by the company to all employees announcing changes in the company’s pass policy and boarding priorities for retirees. The union was not notified of this intended change, nor was the matter discussed with the Union. We demand a meeting with the company to discuss this matter. We believe the change in policy is a violation of the seniority rights’ of our members and a serious breech of our collective bargaining agreement. We request the company maintain the status quo regarding pass policy until the issue is resolved.

We will keep you advised of future developments.

Wishing you a happy holiday season.

Fraternally yours,

William O’Driscoll
President-Directing General Chairman

Note the Date still no follow up on this.
Did I miss any response from the IAM to the retirees?

i belive that the reason you may consider us to be acting in an immoral fashion is because we are watching OUR company stab US in the back ..... us airways IS america west as far as those of us in the west are concerned ...but it's fine , i no longer care about boarding priority , i'm just going to focus on getting as much money as possible out of this company ..." you have to squeez every penny !" ( home simpsion )

Wow, this integration really is going fast ... that's just the way we feel back east! "What's in it for me?" Short Staffed on Superbowl Sunday, need people to volunteer to work? "What's in it for me?!"
