Speaking as the absolute bottom seniority nearly every time I fly, I have to say that it would be hard for me to bump a twenty five (or even ten) year employee because I either came in on an early flight to connect or I showed up 4 hours before the flight. I would prefer to board everyone who showed up at least 30 minutes prior in order of seniority. That way, if I ever get recalled, I can work my way up and with each passing year be more assured that I will get one of a few seats available. As for now, I just don't try unless there are at least 20 seats available.
my two cents,

Im with you Taylor. I put in 33 years with crappy days off ( retired with tue/wed off) working holidays, no social life since my shift started at 400am etc with the one thought that when I retired and got another job, when I traveled I would be towards the top and an S3. Now I'm lower than ANY active employee. I guess the thought is, when you retire you have no life and have all the time in the world.
🙂 Not with whats left of our pensions. LOL! Well, nothing I or anyone can do about it but give it a try. We ALL have to be open minded and give everything a try.
