What's new

Now IBT has nothing to say?

100% correct. But this has to be a system wide deal. In the past any program clt went on pit would be salivating to gain our work when the company threatened to move it out.
UNION:a uniting or being united. It is time for the class and craft of USAirways mechanics to live up to the definition. Don't let the company divide us into small nonfunctional groups. We can better our contracts and ourselves and still be a succesful airline.

Well 700 I will give you this one! My personnal is someone at the NMB just got a sh#t load of cash but hey....You keep talking about the transistion agreement, if I'm correct the IAM works for all of US at U why are they making the decisions on when we will go for a new contract?

The company is posting profits NOW the management is taking pay raises and bonuses NOW, WE should be going for a new contract NOW not waiting till 2009 - 2011 so Doug can say "oh time are hard and there's no money" BS

If the IAM works for US and not the company let them prove it and lets see a new contract, the clause in your bankrupt contract went out the window in the merger, so have the IAM impress me, I lost alot of faith in the IAM back at TWA so if they are the mircle cure that you, dell, Pit and the rest have been yelling about lets see it!!

I'm willing to bet you'll find they are more of a company lap dog with DP pulling the leash, but I would like the IAM to prove me wrong on that but thier track record of compny givebacks and concessions are a matter of public record.

The IAM/US CBA is not amendable, we will negotiate a transition agreement, that is what you do in a merger between two carriers when one group from a differant union falls under a new union and CBA.

There was no money paid to the NMB, the ibt knew exactly how many cards they had and the total # of eligble voters, why do you think they wanted the clerks and all utility on furlough eliminated from the count?

If you havent noticed every union including the ibt has taken concessions at legacy and LCC carriers.

The bankruptcy laws are made to protect the creditors and the company, not the workers.

Believe me the last CBA final offer put a bad taste in the Negotiating Committee's mouth and it is time for payback and at least one maybe two reps from HP will be included in the talks.

Hopfully more than just 2 it is time for the mechanic's to start getting back the money that has been taken from them, if Parker had his way everyone would made $10.00 an hr or less an this is just wrong for a skilled labor group, (and I know what you are going to say that the goverment doesn't consider A&P's as skilled labor, that's another wrong thatneeds to be fixed).

It just seems to me that the IAM is dictating alot of what you do and when you do it as they did at TWA, and they work for you not the other way around. Like I said earlier I hope to be proved wrong, but if it looks and smells like a company lap dog it most of the time is!

We will see what happens when we sit down with the company for the transition agreement!

The Way It Happened @ SWA,{South West Airline's},The IBT Negotiated a New Contract,Got it Signed, then Were Voted OUT By AMFA,So Good Luck in the Transition,Work Hard for US & Be Diligent.
The IBT have 364 day's left to Petition the NMB once again, getting all the Card's Signed will not Be problem,I A M sure you all Will Not Dissappoint US in the {Minority-WEST} . MWW

Voting out a union is differant then a merger.

When AMFA beat the IAM at NW and UA, all they did was adminster it.

Just like when the PFAA beat the ibt at NW and when AMFA beat ibt at WN.

A change in representation due to a vote and not a merger does not mean a new CBA or transition agreement is negotiated.

Did you not learn anything the first time?

You failed, move on and solidify, if we don't the company will eat our lunch.

And once again you'll have your backs to the wall...Its over now and in the future.

Where were they now?

364 you get a new union there is no way in heaven you'll get anything contract wise until the IAM agreement becomes amendable.Do you think DP would be that generous when holding a stacked deck?

New contract neg's just doesn't make any good business sense.....transition yes,new or reopened....NO.

goading the topic "Now the IBT Has Nothing To Say" while saying now is the time for solidarity and to work together...

Yes Indeed,If The IAM @"USAIRWAYS",care's about The UNION MEMBER's then All the Negative Post's Are & Should Now Be Discontinued. There is No More Post's that Are Needed to BLAST another UNION,BROTHER,SISTER,MEMBER,OR ORGANIZATION. SO MR DELL,MR 700,I hope You all would Take note & Refrain from any more activities that involve NEGATIVE IAM PROPAGANDA that Place's Your Morals @ Risk.
A FELLOW UNION BROTHER MWW

Why watch?

Get involved, you will help nothing and accomplish nothing unless you get involved.
WHAT GIVES? It has been 4 days since the NMB's proclamation. We have not seen or heard from any IAM representative. You would think that they would be beating down the doors to welcome us into the fold. Phone calls to IAM go unanswered. I have tried to log on using the website on the numerous "information" post cards I have received during this campaign to no avail. No IAM announcements of meetings: when they were trying to get the rampers into IAM, they were treated better. Is this an anomaly or a precursor to what we should expect from our new union? It isn't like they haven't had six months to plan things out.

How do you get in touch with these people?

They will be coming to visit next week in PHX and LAS for sure. Not sure about the other stations yet. Be patient.

Patience my A$$! Did the NMB ruling catch them by suprise? For the past six months, I have received IAM "informational" literature expounding the value of the IAM membership. Doesn't seem reasonable that the IAM thought that they might win this IAM/IBT fiasco and had a planned response (other than hey we won and you didn't) and ready to hit the road? I know I would have! Being patiently screwed has never been my virtue! In all likelyhood my remaining career, vacation time, sick pay and earnings are going to be messed with until 2010-2012. That my friend messes with my family; I won't be patient for that.

Lighten up Francis. No one knew that the NMB was going to finally make the ruling last Friday. They are planning a trip your way very shortly, like I said next week.
