Heard info today the 21 stations where fleet can be outsourced will be accomplished by June 2005.

Any confirmation?

yeah you can make it 22 because i've heard that my city is also on it and we only have 1 jet a day plus 13 (soon to be 16) commuter flts a day. once it happens i will be out the door. question? will the affected employees be able to sell their sick time back to the company and get dough for it? i heard it can be done but dont know. thanx IAM for selling the fleet service down the river for the third time. and yet they collect our 22.45 in dues every other week. sad.

i can tell you that a large number of us voted no because we (being only 65 mile from phl or so) got sold out to protect the ones in phl and yet when the iam "officials came here, they couldnt tell us a dam thing. wonder why.

I know that Cle is one of the cities that is being outsourced.. Just got a call from a coworker to let me know what is going on. It didnt surprise me. I aint going to move again. I have given too much to this company and enough is enough.

yes you can sell back sick time . Look at letter of agreement dated
Jan 11 2005 on the IAM web site .
Employees who are out furloughed as a result of outsourcing of their

station ,on or before june 1 2006.

Please give up with that line already....
The co-workers that would NOT be affected by outsourcing threw their UNION Brothers under the bus. In fact the IAM helped them along. It is a well known fact that the IAM sacrificed 20+ stations to save catering jobs. We have also heard that the IAM was against creating more MLE stations, so now the members can lose their jobs instead. The Company offered the IAM more MLE stations, but the IAM said NO....At least now those members will be rid of the dues robbing IAM for good.

Fleet Service Work

US Airways announced today that beginning April 11, it will turn over fleet service work in seven cities to qualified vendors, consistent with the labor restructuring agreement ratified by the International Association of Machinists (IAM) and approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

In the first phase of the transition beginning next month, vendors will assume the work done at seven airports, representing about 200 Fleet Service Agents. The airports are Albany, Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Norfolk, Richmond and Rochester.

In the second phase, vendors will take over fleet service responsibilities for another 400 workers at 19 additional airports, including: Allentown; Charleston, S.C.; Cleveland; Greensboro; Detroit; Harrisburg; Kansas City; Milwaukee; Minneapolis/St. Paul; Myrtle Beach; Nashville; Pensacola; Phoenix; Portland, Me.; San Diego; Seattle; Syracuse; Washington Dulles and Wilmington, N.C. Specific dates will be announced over the next several weeks, but the phase two reduction in work force will be completed no later than June 30.

Of the 600 total positions involved, about a third are part-time. Many of the affected workers will have several options, including Early Out benefits, severance pay and opportunities to work at other stations or work for the third party vendors. These options will be outlined further to employees by teams from human resources and other relevant departments.

“During this period of transition, we are making every effort to anticipate the needs of our employees while maintaining a reliable operation for our customers,â€￾ said Donna Paladini, vice president of Customer Service.

320, told you there would be no jobs in Fleet for displaced mechanic and related.

THERE IS A GREAT SONG OUT THERE THAT SAYS....

"TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT "

"I AIN'T WORKING HERE NO MORE "

Two hundred fleet-service workers, mainly bag handlers, in seven cities will be affected by the initial phase, the airline said in a phone message to workers. The cities are Albany, N.Y.; Atlanta; Denver; Houston; Rochester, N.Y.; and Norfolk and Richmond Va.

In some form--this is a combination of both phases:

I bet almost everyone has that Clash song dancing in their head...

Should I stay or should I go?
Should I stay or should I go?
If I go there will be trouble
An’ if I stay it will be double
