I heard this from some friends at US Airways and I'm looking for a definitive answer, not wanting to start a class war...

Fairly substantial rumor circulating that when the rank and file receives an extra $50 in their paycheck for exceeding the "performance objectives", members of management are receiving an extra $ 500.

Anyone wish to clarify this once and for all?

Good luck to all the good folks at U.

I doubt that's true--where did your friend hear this?

Never heard that in my many years here. It's not something I would be easily convinced of with this managment... with Franke mebbe, haha!

I know on the East side when the station exceded it's goal or were tops in their ot performance for their class station the station manager would get a bonus.
Actually it was not a very good objective for the passenger service end of the operation. The station manager would close doors far to early and leave people behind just to get the objective they needed. Many times the captains would request that the jetways be put back on so these people could board, but the rule was jetway off no more pax even if the plane sat there for ten to fifteen minutes before pushback. And the station manager a she, no names but I,am sure many captains would know who it is would always be at odds over this issue.
Many angry people on this issue.

When it started at HP, only Managing Director and below could receive the $50. The title "Managing Dir." I believe is one step under VP.

I don't believe we can believe every rumor we hear!

Managers and Directors up to Managing director receive the same $50.00 bonus or $100.00 for the hat trick.

There are two seperate issues here. The hatrick bonuses, which are $50 or $100 paid to all (except officers) and based on our DOT rankings.
Then there is the performance bonus on the West side which is paid to everyone in grade 23 and above. Based on the company's financial performance there is a amount and % range figure awarded (i.e. 3-9% as an example). Then based on the employees annual review you would get somewhere between 0 and 9%.

I may be wrong but I think the % is based on your place in the food chain, so to speak. For example, an employee at the "supervisor" level may get 5%. A manager may get 7%. A director may get 9%. It's been a few years so I don't remember totally but I think that's the way it goes. Either way........you'll get what you get. 😉
