PHL Crewroom.

I don't think the crew room is SIDA, since we just need our crew ID's, but you do need a US ID, however. Isn't SIDA those blue airport badges? FA's do not have those.

Thanks for the answer, Itest.

There are certain locations in every airport where the badging requirements are in a "grey" area. If all you need to be in the crew room there is a US badge, and the guest is signed in by TSA and escorted, then there is no problem.

Case in point: At PIT, when scanning international baggage, you can't enter Customs without a Customs endorsement on your badge. The scanning area in front is okay for SIDA when simply dropping off baggage to be scanned, but go through the double doors to customs without endorsement and you could find yourself with a lot of explaining to do.

That information was provided to me by a TSA agent who seemed to have a keen sense as to what the rules were. Alas! He seems to have moved on to greener pastures. Too bad, because he was a good source of information.

PIT had every employees apply for an Escort endorsement in the last month. It's my understanding that it allows an employee to sign in ONE guest to be escorted through security to the airside terminal after signing in with TSA. It won't get you on the ramp, but it's good for shopping at the Air Mall, eating out at the restaurants or simply seeing someone off on a flight or hanging out and just plane spotting.

I haven't tried it out yet, but I'll post a message and reveal the experience when it happens.

I'm not sure there's anything to photograph about a crew room..

I'd be happy to escort him into the employee mens rooms in PHL (and DCA) to take photos, as long as he agrees to send copies to the Board of Health.

The crew room in PHL looks like the waiting room to an old welfare office. It is soooo depressing. I can't wait to get the new one. Hey, how about having inflight down in the crew room where you can actually see or FIND a supervisor. What an idea.
