Well considering the fact that east agents are working flights by themselves it will only be a matter of time before they cut you folks out west to one agent per flight as well. While I am totally customer oriented from a f/a standpoint I say do ONLY what you can do. Let the on-time performance suffer and don't overwork yourselves. It is their problem. When your shift is over and you don't want the overtime go home. As long as the company sees that "you can do it" they will NEVER step in and help. Just like when they took the extra flight attendants off the planes right before the food service stopped. F/a's were bending over backwards and jumping through flaming hoops to get the service done. Total BS and feel for all of you. What a mess.
 
How about that family of 5 on the later flight who wants to standby on your earlier flight? With Sabre this was a 10 second transaction. But with "QIK" (oxymoron here), when you re-checkin using C-G-F3 (To-From Flt), and type psg info, you get response "Multi party exists - Divide record to continue". You have to divide EACH psg, 1 by 1 from the record, in many cases must add a "PD" segment for the desired flt, then proceed to check in EACH psg individually just to get them on the standby list!
And at this point, we are already boarding, there are another 20 people standing in line, am oversold, have not PRS (on'd) any seats, and am by myself. NEXT !
This really is insane. This is just ONE example of the MANY deficiencies of this system. Oh, and I am suprised that no one has noticed or mentioned the Smoking or Non Smoking displays on the seat maps. (Circa Eastern Airlines - 1980).

BINGO! effing ridiculous, isn't it? 🙄 There is NO WAY you can put on last minute standby walk ups any longer, or the flights will be late...it's that simple! SORRY FOLKS, but unless you're already on the standby list, we will be unable to accomodate you due to time constraints, as the flight is now ready for departure. THANK YOU!
