Piedmont colors

The colors are STILL WRONG!!

Have you seen it in person or going by the photos? I saw it before (a couple weeks ago prepaint) and today (I could see it on final and knew exactly what it was!!!) and think the colors in person look like the PI colors. The ones in the photo are still washed out by the sun (notice the disappearance of the cheat line under the name because of the glare of the sun)? The red and blue look close enough for me. Of course its been 15 years so if its a shade or two off I wouldnt notice, but it does look better than the powder blue it was prepaint.

The colors are STILL WRONG!! WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!! This paint job makes Piedmont look like a joke. UHG!! How about giving Boeing a call. Sounds like they hate US Airways as much as ever if we DID call them and this is what they gave us? Some of you have pooooor memories.

Agreed. 100%.

The speedbird on the tail and the red is close, but that's about it.

I know a lot of folks like the "A319" on the tail, but the other heritage aircraft do not have that distracting from the intended logo of salute. Piedmont never had A319s, so that should be removed. From 1974 (introduction of the "new" Piedmont logo until 1985, no aircraft types were shown on the tail. Only in 1985 to introduce the 737-300 was that introduced and was never applied to the bulk of the fleet (737-200s, 727-200s, and F28-1000/4000).

The blue is so wrong for the stripe, I don't know where to start.

you know, meal time is very important for kids and you might want to consider real one-on-one time with your son rather than a distraction with the boards and the color of piedmont heritage planes. not telling you how to parent, just my 2 cents and what I've read.
Who asked for your opinion?

 me thinks this managment team might actually be trying and listening. doug was on cspan the other day. seemed like a down to earth sort of guy. as an east guy its hard to trust management but i think i will give it a try...see what happens. DONT MAKE A FOOL OUT OF ME DOUG!

A few folks won't be happy until you jack that A319 off it's tires and jack a 737-200 back down on 'em but I gotta tell you, from one VERY proud Piedmont pilot, this airplane looks good! The folks in Tempe have listened and responded. It's no small effort to take an airplane out of service and repaint it so on behalf of me, myself and I, I'd like to thank those responcible.

It's been a long time since ANYONE gave a flip what we thought as employees of US. Feels kinda nice!

A320 Driver

p.s. Almost forgot. Great pics LGA777!!!

Yes you are correct. They never did have Airbus. But who is to say that they might have them today? I would even bet that the PI livery would POSSIBLY not be the same as we once knew it. Don't always judge something by a photo....wait till you see it in person. That is what I am waiting on.

This is just too funny...On a previous post about this a/c, people were complaining about how the a/c designator SHOULD be on the tail, now they put in on and people want it OFF! To me, it doesn't look like the blue color changed at all. I did notice that when I was at work this week that the Piedmot logo on the "Heritage Logo" was the real light blue also. I guess now they will have to go back and repaint the "Heritage" logo on all of the aircraft or replace the sticker, which ever applies.
I think the red "US Airways" looks better, but does that mean that now they should repaint the Allegheny and America West planes their respective red colors and the PSA plane with the black "shadow" font?
Maybe so...????

I was extremely disappointed with the first pictures. The A/C was an injustice to all the Piedmont employees. We deserved better for the livery. I have yet to have the opportunity to see it in person but the pictures surely show that it is more correct than ever. Thanks to all that did the he** raising to get it back to the paint shop ( or did they do it inhouse?). Seems the inhouse jobs turn out better.

US does not have paint capability, it was painted by AvEx in New Iberia, LA.

Anybody see the comments about the redone paint job in the June 2nd About US? It looks like every single one of them is from this thread. Some of ya'll are famous now!

I FINALLY saw the PI aircraft in person and YES, it DOES look like the original colors in person. It's amazing the difference.

BTW, did anyone see my quote about the colors being wrong on AboutUS? Safe to say the company DOES monitor these boards.

beleive me, they read what we post.they are veriy interested in what we have to say.

No one is going to agree 100% on these heritage livery aircraft. While I think it's cool that the company is honoring it's history, they tend to look like transition liveries, where the old name has been painted over.
