I wish the TWU represented the pilots at AA, this would have been over long ago.
After one contract from the TWU the Pilots would have booted them out.
Would have never lasted even if it could happen.

I know things break all the time, but isn't there going to be a time that all these items that probably have been put off for awhile are fixed and maybe the planes will be in the best shape in years and these shenanigans stop being so effective?

I just put this through my computer's "Whining-to-English" translator and this is what came out -
"I voted yes and now I am bitter. I'm bitter that the pilots may get more money. I hope their effort fails. It will make me feel better about caving and making the idiotic decision to vote for a McDonalds labor contract."
What a classless post. Your parents, especially your mother, should be very proud.
Enjoy your pay cut.....You all don't get it: there are not enough airlines to hire everyone at AA if / when it goes Chapter 7. You don't get it, if the UCC thinks this will go on forever without a new contract, they will pull the plug while there is still some cash on hand, and sell the parts off to at least make sure they break even.
You don't get it: this leads to everyone losing their jobs. As a former APA pilot told me: "What idiot thinks that having no job is better than that contract? What kind of arrogance must one have to think he/she is better and more important than everyone else and thus place their livelyhoods in jeopardy for their own personal wants. I will tell you who: the idiot whose expectations are based on a world that existed 20 years ago; an idiot who is supposed to retire in a few years and has nothing to lose---> because anyone with kids who threatens their livelyhood is just that: AN IDIOT. "
If the pilots don't like their contract, they can do what the rest of us working stiffs have to do: suck it the **** up, or quit and get another job.

If the captain wants a longer layover or to missconnect then they take delays on non safety issues like broken lavs.

A broken lav can be a safety/security issue and the reason shouldn't be discussed in an open forum. Your little missive demonstrates while you may have decades of valuable experience working behind the cockpit door, as crewmember subordinate to the decisons and directives of the aircraft commander, you don't have the skills and knowledge to decide or comment on the validity of them.
