I agree that you can not compare US to CO.
CO Management were people WHO CARE ( damm that slogan sounds familar, WE CARE ) about its employees. They knew without happy employees they could not offer quality service, on the ground or in the air. Then they offered Employees incentives such as the above mentioned Explorers (Taxes paid as well) and cash bonuses for top number in the dot stats. They had a manager who turned around EWR. EWR was very much the same as PHL today, but Dave knew how to treat people. But enough, with the MORRONS we have running the show, the curtain will soon fall for the last time.

And Jim, what I will miss as well is all the GREAT people I have met thru the years.

It's hard to stand up for your brand when you're trying to pick up pennies off the floor.

I guess some here can be "bought" for the chance to be given a Ford Ex. How sad.
Can't wait till Jan. and new faces.

Pride in your company!!!

This is a two way street and (through life experience) I have had pride in my company. Unfortunately, we are at a new pinnacle in which I have none. We are all being sold ‘down the river’ in pay and benefits and our ‘demise’ is for the good of the ‘Company’. The 'Company' must survive!!!

Why???

Firstly, what is ‘The Company’? Is it some omnipotent benefactor that looks out for the health and welfare of it’s employees? Certainly not!!! The ‘Company’ is a profit making enterprise to make money for investors (in theory) and it’s officers (in fact) ‘no-more/no-less’!!!

Company loyalty is a ‘ploy’ made by the people that ‘have’ in a feeble sociological mantra to appease the people that ‘have-not’!

If you are willing to buy into this sociological ploy, then too bad for you. The pathological adherence to this sociological attack on your ignorance has been well thought out and proven by the ignorant acceptance of this manipulative hypothesis.

‘Pride’ is what corporate America uses to extract your blood from you and make you ‘feel’ good about it.
Like the old adage ‘Money is not everything!’ which was probably created by those that ‘have’ to appease those that ‘have-not’.

Money is not everything if you have enough of it ;-)

JMHO........

Take Care,

A rose by any other name, though in this case, it's a turd by any other name.

Personally, I think we should get rid of the business majors, and put airline people in charge again.

The we should call it:

P.S.A.
Piedmont Southern Airways.

Then "catch our smile".

peet....i see some merit in this at certain levels..however i don't in this businees climate see some wrench twister at the top unless IMHO he has invested many hours learning the ways of business in this new era..... college has its benefits B) B)

How hard is it to learn to get mine and screw the rest?

Everyone without ethics knows that intrinsically.

Having pride in the "new" airline will require a combination of fair treatment, to both customers AND employees, and, some savy/common sense business decisions. Glass/Crelin/Paladini/Baldenza have so far not shown talent for the above. This could change. We could also be hit by an astroid.

back in the day I wore t-shirts on my day off and charms around my neck telling everyone who I worked for.
Today I tell no one.

Loyalty is a TWO way street. U management has zero loyalty to the serfs. They're something to be "managed," not "led."

Even the execs are only loyal to themselves. Remember, they GET THEIRS up-front and in iron-clad contracts that are actually honored (if we can use that term in relation to U management). All the rest of the Rah Rah talk is just the same tripe that they teach at business school and executive workshops on how to create the appearance of caring while hiding the real agenda.

looked at the contract , no good ,no penison,no medical ,express everything VOTE NO

While I do not have to vote anymore on such things, I do hope my friends still there take the time to see how the new contract will effect them personally and see how they can make it work to stay or to have time to look elsewhere. It is time to use your head, not your emotions in your vote. Good luck to all.

ps. Just in case you were curious, my opinion of our string of past managers is right on par with the camp latrine, full of C#$%.!!!!!

Good point,

We are just trying to get our costs down, many are taking it personally.

It could be much worse....

I tend to take it personally when I am lied to and my retirement is stolen!
