The best solution: people should learn to clean up after themselves!!!!!! When you're done with the food you bring on board, make sure it gets thrown away during one of the multiple rounds made by the flight attendants; or take it with you as you get off the plane. Use common courtesy: don't put wrappers, half-eaten food, and ketchup packets in the seat pocket.
Agreed. People often think that just because they pay for a service, that's an excuse for being slobs. We ran into this all the time when I worked in retail. People woulld leave the restrooms a mess.. such as leaving toilet paper pieces all over the floor . .or worse! Parents would leave kids dirty diapers in the shopping carts.“You put your hand in the seatback pocket and there’s an open McDonald’s ketchup container in there,†said Joe Brancatelli, a frequent flier who runs an advice Web site for business travelers. Tidiness has declined in recent years, he said. “The problem is they’ve made so many cuts.â€
When cleaning is outsourced, for instance, “it’s another part of the airline business that goes to the lowest bidder,†he said.
And when outside food was invited aboard, routines for taking care of trash went awry. “A lot of inconvenient garbage,†Mr. Brancatelli said. “The airlines can’t control it. They can’t plan for it.â€
B.S. The F/As walk thru the cabin asking for all garbage a couple of times inflight. The customers are lazy and dont care if they leave THEIR garbage in the seatback pocket as long as its clean the next time THEY take flight. And before anyone says I'm blaming the customers on this and the airline should clean the plane, I agree. There should be a more thorough cleaning on the planes more often especially with the amount of people traveling, but some help from those leaving the normal trash behind would be a big step in the right direction during the rest of the time.

And yes, I agree there should be more thorough cleanings. Just the sheer number of people walking up & down the aisles makes the carpeting look awful.
I'm not suggesting passengers clean the airplanes, I'm suggesting they use common courtesy and pick up after themselves by ensuring their own trash is thrown away and not dumped in the seat back pockets. That's a small, but necessary part. The cleaning should not be left up to fellow passengers. Flight attendants should not be cleaning and serving, unsanitary. When you check into a hotel, they do not blame a dirty room on the previous guest. The company should insure a clean cabin by hiring someone to do it. Wages depend on what the market pays for like jobs in other industries.
Have not heard from you in a while, where have you been?I'm not suggesting passengers clean the airplanes, I'm suggesting they use common courtesy and pick up after themselves by ensuring their own trash is thrown away and not dumped in the seat back pockets. That's a small, but necessary part.
We get some nasty ass passengers sometimes.
Amazing. I never like to think I am any better than anyone else.
Let's just get rid of seat pockets. People have been putting crap in them for years. What good are they anyway? Just laminate the evac card to the back of the tray table.Use common courtesy: don't put wrappers, half-eaten food, and ketchup packets in the seat pocket.

It makes me very observant. I was brought up to respect other peoples property. And you? We don't need to go into that, I guess. As I said earlier, nothing surprises the F/A's anymore. Maybe if passengers had alittle more respect toward our aircraft, they wouldn't look so dingy. I understand the occasional spill, but I have a hard time with the folks who leave the aircraft with crackers, cereal, and candy all over the floor. Would you leave it on your floor at home? You don't have to answer that one.Does that make you "nasty ass" or worse?
We get some nasty ass passengers sometimes. Who puts their bare feet on the wall/bulkhead. Talk about nasty. I always ask them "Do you put your bare feet on your wall at home?" Then get them off mine. it's discusting. Here's one for ya. I had a lady who had a small child on my flight. We landed and had a short RON(about 9 hours). Everyone was off the plane and I was walking up the aisle. She was just waking her kid up. I was amazed. As I got to her, I saw a daiper on the floor under her seat. I asked her if that was a daiper and she said yes. I asked her if she was going to leave it there on the floor. She said " Yes, what am I supposed to do with it?" Now, we had been through the cabin numerous times to pick up refuse. I asked her if she hid daipers under her couch at home. She said no, of course not. Well then, don't leave it under our seats either. Amazing. I never like to think I am any better than anyone else, but sometimes it's tough. Also, I had a kid say "Thank you" for handing him a pillow. Now, where would he learn that word? Sad thing is, nothing surprises us anymore.
