I have no hatred for mechanics, I have a lot of close friends who are.

Show me where I posted that I hate mechanics.

AMFA is a trade unionist movement, it is an elitist movement, I seen the hatred the people spew towards non-amts, and a union would not tell NW to take more from other work groups who are unionized than from themselves.

And AMFA failed its membership at NW.

Where's the "No Union" option ?

Oh...........and the Teamsters ?

Yeah buddy, vote out the union and then kiss your work good bye!! Nothing like seeing the fleet flying to Mexico and China for HMVs, getting less time off than your peers, getting less profit sharing, less 401K match, higher health care cost and less AMTs for more ASMs. Livin the dream baby!.

For anyone who can't figure this out its total sarcasm. Don't be stupid. You may get screwed with a union, but you will get screwed without one.

and I don't work for AMR, but if it were me, I guess I would have to go AMFA. I still think the in-house idea would be best though.

If no Union were an option like at Delta you might be surprised at how many would pick it. 🙄
Why? Do they like working more for less and the company building its own outsourcing company in Mexico? Or more and more DGS(another outsourcing company owned by the company) employees walking around the hangars while the Delta employees get leveled?

Just because you've never typed the words "I hate mechanics" doesn't mean that one can't read that from your posts. You see AMFA as an elitist movement, but it isn't. It is a union for mechanics, made up of solely mechanics and their related classes. Regardless of your feelings towards AMFA, it is a union that it's members chose as their bargaining agent. Since you say thy AMFA failed their membership at NWA, didn't the IAM
also fail their members at CAL? You like to throw rocks, but forget that you live in a glass house

The IAM at CO represented the FAs and they were the second highest paid just underneath WN.

Try again, I dont hate nor dislikes mechanics, I dont like AMFA and I have stated the reasons why.

They failed the APs at NW, they have an elitist attitude and dont want the and relateds, I have witnessed and been part of their attacks during campaigns at US, ie the CLT hangar.

And they lead the industry in outsourcing and lost a major precedent setting case with ACA, eliminating the status quo among newly organized groups. Their lawyer represented EL AL and Alitlia against unions, not for them.

I was talking about the contiental mechanics in 83, not the fas

The laws were different in 83, every union got screwed by the courts, the court ruled no cbas and no unions.

Well at least you are consistent, there is no way and I mean no way it could have been even in the slightest degree the IAM's fault. you truly are a devout follower.

So after 28 years of playing politics and spending the members money like there was no tomorrow the Judge kicked the all powerful AFL-CIO and its industrial unions to the curb and all your strength in numbers did what? nothing just like Patco

The mechanics went on strike prior to bankruptcy. In bankruptcy, cbas were tossed. Still doesn't change the fact that in 85 the IAM decided the strike wasn't working and tried getting their jobs back. Sounds to me like, an unfortunately, failed strike. You say you've never crossed a picket line, that's good. Would you have crossed the AMFA line? Which side are you on?

I'm not weighing in on the craft v industrial, because they both have their place. Alot of people are attacking the afl-cio for their lobbying and how it's done nothing, but, you go out and vote for the guy who was accepting all of the lobbying money from the big corporations. It doesn't make any sense. You guys complain about all the money thrown at Obama by the unions, and say, what has he done for labor? Meanwhile, you're voting in all of the obstructionists in congress who are on the other side, bought and paid for by the koch's. PATCO had an unfortunate ending due to one of our most labor unfriendly presidents. Insert whatever union you want there and the outcome would've been the same.

Educate yourself, the courts voided all the contracts and took away the union certification, on all unions on the property.

Are claiming the union leaders are spending one way and the members are voting the other way?

What does that tell you then?
