Was told that there is a very good chance we will see MIA-PHX this fall since US is discontinuing their nonstop.

Start date should be 4Sep06. Orginally, the plane was that US/HP are simply switching carriers on MIA-PHX. It currently does not show up in res systems past July because the route, as MIA-LAS recently was, is tranfering from HP equipment to US equipment, and while HP pulled it already, US has not uploaded their schedule. Though maybe that has changed.

Anyone hear more on this lately? I've been told it's a go, evening departure to MIA/redeye from PHX, but it hasn't been uploaded yet.

Heard from a US Airways pilot based in CLT that we'll be doing MIA (and possible TPA) to PHX/LAS...soon.

Will be flown as red-eye's, based in CLT. We'll see...

Only thing I heard was that it would be Sept at the earliest.

I think you are referring to US flying and we are referring to AA flying. Rumors are that since US/HP will not have flights from MIA-PHX after JUL that AA will pick up this route soon.

Yes, but what he is referring to is that US Airways will be starting MIA-PHX in August, right after HP drops it in July. That is expected, but the fact that US didn't upload their flight once HP removed theirs makes things odd. US Airways already flies MIA-LAS daily.

No updates in Sabre this Sunday morning, usually new updates are done on Sat nights so will have to wait and see in the next few weeks. This could be just a rumor or wishful thinking anyway.

Unless fuel starts to back down from where it is, I seriously doubt AA will be adding new routes like this. If anything, I would expect to see some more of the one-a-day's being cut.

AA is not going to let two of the largest airports in the US be without non-stop service.

MIA-PHX is not a rumour, it was given the go-ahead a few days ago, I'm just surprised it has not been uploaded yet. There of course might be a 13th hour change, but it is a go.

US Airways: LAS-FLL, LAS-TPA.

Aug 20 schd, will be loaded in Sabre May 20-06.

Let's see if this holds true.
