IAM having a re-vote? Maybe someone didn't really understand?

Sounds like the IAM and ALPA are cut from the same mold. (literally)

Take this for what it is..... AFA members voted in our current contract that is now good until 2011.
NEVER vote in a contract for longer than 3 years because the industry can change so much in a lot less time than that.
Our JNC has been working on the little things for 17 months and they have not even gotten to SCK,VAC,Scheduling....the important stuff.
The contract we are working under now is AWFUL and once 2011 rolls around, it will be a few more years of negotiations after that unless the JNC does something---which iI highly doubt.
If you vote in a contract that is good through 2012, you will be working under it until 2013,14 and 15.
JMO.

Did you read the post, every member of the jnc recommeneds acceptance of the contract... You mean to tell me that your going to try to fight the west hubs, the east field stations , the west field stations and your own leadership ? Talk about an uphill battle..

Lets not get too hastey until we see the details on the 14th , i mean how much worse could it be? (there i said the words your never suppose to say )

yeah look i'm no longer jumping for joy over here on the west because even if its voted in it wont go into effect for 7 months ... yes i agree this IS a shitty contract.. but eh what are we gonna do huh ?

No the reason you end up working under it for that long is a total faliure to prepare for a new contract if we have unil 2011 then we should be prepared WELL in advance for that time ...it pisses me off that unions seem to drag their feet on that #### ..

If it were up to me i'd be negotating before the end of 2011 and then as soon as jan 1 rolls around i'd kick things into high gear and if progress isn't made i'd have it timed so that a strike would occur around thanks giving or decemeber .

A slap in the Face to Senior East Agents? Maybe in the Hubs it is, but not to the Class II cities. YOU Class I Stations have Slapped your fellow memebers when YOU voted in the last contract. The Class II Cities voted down the last contract by over 86%. You voted fellow employess like Wings in ABE and TWENTY FIVE other Stations out of Jobs. Lets Reserve Judgement until we see it all.

Dude that ain't how it works with the IAM. It took us 4 years to get our first contract with the IAM. Are you ready to live with this until 2015 or 2016? If so you will definitely be at poverty level by the end. This is the IAM you are dealing with. Make them work for the dues you are paying. They can do better than this. Oh yeah get ready for a dues increase. That is what the IAM is best at. I know you don't want to hear this but be patient and send it back for better. Good luck. VOTE NO!!!!!

FLL is class I station. in a bad day a crew works 4 flights in 8 hours

a crew in MIA (which is only 30 miles away) is class II station, get paid less and work 6-7 flights (8 hours) and thats a REGULAR day!

anyone see something wrong here?

and yes theres alot of senior agents(20+ years) in MIA who will welcome the raise. no slap in the face to them.

This contract is a disgrace! Our union reps worked over a year for this piece of crap.I also heard with the ratification of this our profit sharing is gone. VOTE NO !
