What does the SG designation next to the pax status mean on the manifest?

I don't know what SG means. However, based on another post you made today I would just like to let you know that if you ask that question to the company or let them know you somehow saw the manifest you could get a crewmember in trouble with the company. Customers are not supposed to see that document and I won't share why that is the way it is.

nope, the manifest is never in open view...just overheard someone talking about the designation and was curious...that's all

the other day i heard a fa talking about how her husband ran around on her from the day she got married and i heard another talk about making a salad...some of them are pretty loud

If memory serves me correctly, it indicates that the person is a Signature Visa Card holder.

Then again, I am somewhat old.........

With so many new codes these days, I do believe it means that the passenger is Star Alliance Gold. I may be wrong and stand corrected if so. It usually appears in the seating chart by their name. That part of the manifest is ALWAYS in view of passengers due to the fact that it is clipped up on the board in the galley. The rest is info not needed to be seen. They sure could save a tree if they stopped printing all of that meaningless BS that a flight attendant has absolutely NOOOOOO need for. Give me any special info I need and the seating chart to write in. The pilots get their own 5lbs of paper as it is.

SG means Signature Visa. Not sure if the MasterCard has the same designation or not.

What a mis-statement that is.. Crews leave that list in the galley all the time.. As a matter of fact I see it hanging on the galley clips all the time!! Passengers waiting for the toilet have it in full view..

If passengers are not supposed to see it don't you think it would be the job of the F/A's to put it away instead of hanging it up for all to see??

And why are you in the galley when waiting for the restroom, particularly in the front of the aircraft?

Oh brother, you should find our favorite FA from DCA: THERE'S TOO MUCH NAVY IN THE GALLEY, TOO MUCH NAVY

SG has to do with the credit card. It has nothing to do with the Star Alliance levels. Sometimes you'll see SG and US4 next to the same name. Just means they have the credit card and in the DM program.

Since the bathroom is in the front of the aircraft where do you suggest we wait? You have the F/A sitting on the right side of the aircraft and you have an open area in the galley with no one standing there.. Is there some rule that you can't stand and wait to use the bathroom?

That would have been my guess also, unless its for Signature visa card.
Once again, the SG has nothing to do with the Star Alliance. It stands for the Signature credit card. Ask an agent, like I have. Jeez.
