Unlke Mid Atlantic who are basically all very junior to mainline f/as in the first place, BUT have NOT had their seniority effected by a merger with AWA...after all, its DOH on mainline!!!!
So, I pose the question, how has MAA seniority been negatively effected by the merger with AWA, pray tell??? Inquiring minds would like to know!
Funny how you knew we were talking about MAA without it ever being said!
Totally shows the attitude of the union right there- ' all very junior', lest we forget, anyone with 7-15 years is 'junior' and doesn't matter. They should just pay $40 a month for nothing and take the brunt of all concessions.
Seniority is not affected by MidAtlantic.
Pay longevity is. Which affects the affected employees, not the furloughees chosen or not. If someone was on the property they should have accrued longevity for pay. If they were not they dont. Simple. Only US AFA and ALPA have these convoluted divisions, schemes, bypasses and BS for thier furloughees (which made up half the seniority list at one time).
And the whole MDA idea was negotiated to be a Wholly owned subsidiary, it was not, it was put on mainline no matter what was painted on the planes. So all that stuff is null and void, the AFA failed a group of F/As, continue to do so to this day, and it wont be forgotten.
As dismissive as the treatment of those employees by thier unions was, years of lost pay credit is nothing compared to losing seniority, especially what is happening to our pilots. Its just absolutely disgusting. My heart breaks for them.
I dont see how an airline can operate with the majority of its pilots robbed of thier seniority.
