Eastern charged for non-alcoholic drinks near the end.
The end being the important part of that statement.
The LCCs (notably LUV and B6) will eat the PR lunch of anyone who starts charging for water.
Great.<SNIP> Charging for all beverages to keep the costs down though could be a good idea.
Sure everyone will shake in their boots over your threat. NOT!
Charging for all beverages to keep the costs down though could be a good idea. You pay for the seat when you go to concerts, sporting events, theaters, movies, trains, buses so why should one not have to pay for their beverage on a airplane.
Why does everyone feel they are entitled to everything when they fly. Now if the cost of an airline ticket goes back up to the cost several year back then can see not charging and providing the extras.
The creative airline will be profitable and get the business travelers....A "kinko's" type business idea....we provide everything and they pay for the convience..laptops, ipods, anything they want. They pre purchase it and its waiting for them like duty free. The airline that provides the comfort will ge the business. Something appearing to be bad could actually be very good. Advetisers will pay more to get their ads on board especially since there is less competition. USAirways just needs to act fast and fill the void. Its a new ballgame now the customer will pay us for water.
Thank you...thank you...thank you!! God Bless America but we need to wake up!!you my friend are an ignorant fool if you blindly believe what is told to you by the government (aka management). I think we call that, drinking the kool-aid.
After watching all the news, I do not think this ban will end anytime soon all you need is some peroxide, the explosive paste and an electric charge. I could see a ban coming on anything carried on board.
I need to get some sleep, so I'm not going to list all I the flaws I perceive in your statement. I'm just going to take the last sentence and lay into you as quickly as possible, then maybe I'll flame you tomorrow if I'm still irritated enough.
When you suggest that "people like like (sic) you" will "kill people like (sic) me" what you are ultimately doing is bringing into question that person's loyalty, not only to the country they live in but to the ethics they live by.
Are you just tired and angry or did you just not think before you posted that statement? I think the answer lies somewhere in the middle, because as much as I personally find most of the Tempe cheerleaders on the board contemptible, I would never question their motivations to the point of suggesting they would perform some sort of terrorist act as a tool for an organization that's out to destroy America.
We'll get back to normal in a few days, and then we can continue to argue over the way US Airways does or does not work. In the meantime, I would humbly ask that you take a bit more time to consider what you are writing and posting, and make sure you aren't so carried away to suggest that posters with a different opinion are somehow putting the rest of us at some sort of risk.
FWIW, skepticism is still a good thing, folks. Questioning things we don't completely understand can be much better than blindly following what you are told. Consider that the next time any subject comes up that you aren't familiar with.
Good Night!
Um, youwhocannotspell, it is "preceive" and not "perceive". Even deadly tired, few but short bus riders make that mistake.
Better add screw drivers, matches, and Vaseline to the list of prohibitied items. After watching all the news, I do not think this ban will end anytime soon all you need is some peroxide, the explosive paste and an electric charge. I could see a ban coming on anything carried on board.

Why not? Your spokespeople like Maulkin and O'lierly have been doing that for years. I think it is well past time to even the balance sheet.
If we could get right wing whackjobs to actually be skeptical enough to actually reference original sources rather than some cretinous opinion the country would be much better off.
e.g. A dude made a statement about the Geneva Conventions. Turns out, when I had him reference the actual Conventions, not only he, but the cretins he quoted, "Powerline", Maulkin, and Faux News were proved quite wrong. (BTW, I am an expert with the GC, love it when yet another wingnut falls into my spideyhole - chapter and verse).
The administration is lying. Get it, folks?
