From the Ft. Worth Star Telegram: American Airlines announced today that it will begin non-stop DC3 service between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Meachum Field in Fort Worth.
"It is a move we have been contemplating for some time," said Gerard Arpey, CEO of American Airlines. This newest service is only the beggining. Arpey also said that in order to compete with the General Aviation market, it will also start flying to Mineral Wells, Wichita Falls and Ardmore, Oklahoma from Meachum Field. When asked if this new plan to compete with General Aviation will meet with any resistance from it's unions, Arpey said: " I don't expect resistance from our pilots, we'll just threaten their pensions, that will also bring the flight attendants aboard. The TWU has always been a leader in labor/management relations...we expect them to pull together to win together..as has been the case for over 50 years."

Geez, Do you people have screw up every thread with your union whining? Are you that shallow that you need to see your name in print as often as possible? I posted what I thought was a neat site with some nice pictures of a very elegant plane and you have bring this crap in here.

Get a life will you.

So touchy. Typical management puke with no sense of humor. Go choke on fur ball!

Go choke on a fur ball???? I guess that shows not only your gradeschool mentality, but also displays you your poor attempt at humor.

It's always management that is wrong with you guys! I have said this many times.....Get an advanced education, market yourself amongst the Fortune 100 Companies, earn your market rate (which Arpey is well below his peers) and you can get rid of the grease under your finger nails and you too can earn more $$$$$$ Instead, you waste your time bashing senior management and contributing a portion of your paycheck to a money making union. Let's face it, your union is making money off of you and they are laughing at you

Right! Market Rate which is determined by fellow CEO's and other top executives!

Since there are far more small and privately held businesses in the US than there are publicly traded corporations with a board of directors, your assumptions are off a bit.

If you're smart enough to run your own business or to go work for a small business, do it. You'll make far more money than you do at the airlines.

That makes a lot of sense
Actually not determined by fellow CEO's and other executives, it's in the hands of the BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Who, in turn, are CEO's and other executives of other companies who have their compensation determined by THEIR board of directors who are CEO's and executives who have their compensation determined by their board of directors..............and so on and so on!

You're kidding me, golfer!

WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK COMPRISE A BOARD OF DIRECTORS?

That makes a lot of sense

Corporate Structure

AMR At-A-Glance

In 1982, stockholders voted to approve a plan of reorganization under which a new holding company, AMR Corp., was formed and became the parent company to American Airlines. The name "AMR" was taken from the airline's three-letter New York Stock Exchange symbol.

Imagolfer and CIO are the same person. One persona spouts the same canned management drivel, the other does it wearing a TWU hat. Neither is to be taken seriously.

Just a man-hating troll stirring us up to entertain herself.

Wrong :D I am just someone who recognizes free enterprise and not one who hides behind a union.
