Station Manager Bailing out

Well, back to the station manager question. I had a friend apply for an open station manager job. She got a panel interview and was told that if selected she would then have to interview with 2 vice-presidents. Seems, the new senior management is somewhat particular about who they select as a station manager. I have also heard that the current managers are being interviewed one by one. Could be some either didn't like the new US Airways or the new US Airways doesn't like them.

I wonder why prices have gone up???...anyone. Hint it's a four letter word that begins with f. Clue get a clue.

"Up" in this case means relative to every other airline (presumably other airlines also have to put fuel in the tanks).

Bob Davis in RDU was not a very friendly fellow - to maintenance anyway - as I recall his attitude was I'm GOD you're not. As I recall many people took an early retirement even before it was necessary (csa), because of his abusive attitude. So I think long gone is good.

I'll second that. He was a jerk to his customers as well and was a loser as a maager. Good riddance.

Now in terms of Claudio Digruttola(IAD), that's a different matter. He is a total class act and will be missed. He has accepted a Regional Manager position w/ Sprit Airlines.

Bob may not have been the most sociable person but he knows the job thoroughly. Never saw the I'm God thing from him.

He did expect the best from his people and it showed in the ones who wanted to be better.

And what does any of this have to do with Station Managers leaving......NOTHING..

Speculation and informed opinion would indicate that HP is replacing managers with their own people, to eliminate any prior US business methods. Honestly, who didn't see that coming?

Anybody know what happened to the Station Manager in MIA? I used to work the Ramp with him about 20 years ago.

Please! Your view is not from a maintenance perspective!
We have some HP management left, but the majority is heavily East. Let's keep things in perspective. It's not all one sided as you might think.

Bob was fine so long as you drank his koolaid - he looked out for folks who saw things his way. See things differently, and you were on his s*&tlist.

He'd violate the fleet contract just to see what he could get away with. And with the AGC that had RDU, Bob got away with murder.

From way out here on the outside it seems almost as if HP wanted US's MTC abilities almost as much as their route structure.

The only place you see a lot of US folks is on the operations end of things.

Is my perception correct?

Can't speak for the entire ops side. Maintenance issues are very complex and not easily merged. Maintenance programs East and West will probably be one of the very last chapters to close before we have one certificate.

Have these jobs been filled? Did they go to West people or East people?

RDU had an awesome mgr that they relocated....now there is an opening??? things are backwards all over....we are hiring shift managers with no experience....what next?

The Station Manager they are getting is awesome!
Gomez is the best!
Imagine....a manager with people skills...that has actually been around long enough to know the business.
Consider yourselves lucky....there are a lot of Trolls out there looking for their own stations.

The RDU and MIA jobs both went to Easties. Although the Manager awarded MIA decided to go with another carrier instead. (more $$$)
