What's new

Stealing

You should report this to the company. You may contact me and I will see that it reaches the proper department. I can assure you that this will be investigated, if you will provide me with the flight #, date and the section that the f/a was working. I apologize that you had to witness this scenario. This f/a is in the minority and doesn't represent the vast majority of our excellent f/as.
Are you advocating employee theft? Thank God that I don't have to deal with you anymore. Your f/a group is in good hands with the new management team.
And you stealing everyone's pension, pay, workrules, vacation, benefits and jobs is criminal.

Guess all the money and stock options you got make you sleep easier at night, by the way I never did get to ask you, how did it feel to lose the Airbus case that you seemed so confident on winning? Your former Attorney told me all about what you said and how you felt before the arbitration.

How was the move from CCY to Tempe?

Don't worry we will be seeing you soon back on the east coast in PIT and CLT as the IAM will not becoming to Tempe for Transition Negotiations.

One more thing NVA,

Remember it has to face the test of just cause which it will fail, but that never stopped you from terminating anyone.

Heinrich,

As I had said, the labor relations #1 knucklehead is out scanning the boards again.

Yea, Truth, f/as are so great and excellent, you and your cronnies can't think to give them an increase and negotiate a transition agreement that is equitable...

That may not have been the smartest thing to post. Also, the second sentence is very subjective. From whose perspective is the F/A group in good hands with the new management team?
He's speaking about the East coast AFA MECP he has control of including the idiot LECP in PHL

funny thing, I was in a seat behind Heinrich and saw the F/A during this time and I never saw this act purported by one individual....I swear...

well you and your cronies were good at setting an example.

I was thieved, mugged and raped by Glass and his merry band of pranksters...

Three mini's a day will keep the doctor away. (Lower medical costs)
~Show me one person that has not taken a pen or stole time (theft of services) by screwing off for a few minutes. I have BS'd for a few minutes when I was paid by the hour.

~~Time for another Baileys from my mini bar.

People don't "steal" pens. The accidentally walk away with one. When you take liquor and put it in your bag and you haven't paid for it...it's stealing from your company. Theres no other way to put it. I've heard FA;s justify this over and over again, the fact is not matter who the employer, it's stealing. FA's have to remember they are up there without a supervisor, good judgement and trust is part of the FA's responsibility. I wouldn't report the person, but if she does this all of the time, she'll eventually figure out it's not right.

Taking a pen is still stealing it from the company, don't sugarcoat it.

I wouldn't report the person, but if she does this all of the time, she'll eventually figure out it's not right.
Or somebody else who sees him/her do it will figure it out for her. All it takes is 1 passenger (or coworker) to report it. Is a mini bottle worth your job??

Saw a FA stuff 3 vodkas into her personal carry-on before doing liquor count.

I wish I had not observed this. As a PAX I am put into an awkward position. Part of me thinks I should fill out a complaint but the other part of me really liked her and enjoyed her service.

She was not a young attendant and the "sneaky" nature of her behaviour to me implied that she was well practiced.

I'm just depressed that I saw this. I was at the right place at the right time. I know from several Internal Audit friends that "on the job stealing" is commonplace for any career whether it be food, grocery, retail....instead of complaining to corporate with a specific flight # and specifically identifying the FA I figured I would post here that stealing anything sucks.

WHETHER YOU FEEL YOU'VE PERSONALLY BEEN STOLEN FROM OR NOT BY THE "COMPANY" IS ABSOLUTELY IRRELEVANT
Big sin, little sin...is that what you're saying? Ok to lie to customers why the flight is delayed, but not ok to take a Diet Coke for the layover? Ok to lust after the hot young thing next to you, but not for the captain to take a bag of peanuts for the van ride? Please, save the morality police for the Bush Administration. All you've done here is p*ss people off.

I'm going to guess based on some of the responses here that employee stealing might well be commonplace in the airline industry.

Instead of sticking it to the customer, and screwing the customer over and nickling and diming the customer to death on $25 same-day stand by fees and Northwest charging $15 for an exit row, perhaps the industry should find a way to be more pro-active at self-monitoring and get rid of some of the detritus working and getting paychecks.

To those of you leaving personal insults here towards me, you're pushing me closer to giving far more details directly to the company. I'm going to hope that you folks are recently-hired Express folks and that those of you sending me a plethora of support in private chat are longer term REAL USair employees. At least that's how I'm putting order on this chaos in my mind.

I've let your dirty little secret out of the bag and now someone might do something about it. tsk tsk....now go steal 4 $25 stand by fees out of the cash register when no one's looking because you might really need it when you lose your job for stealing.

First of all, what does this post have to do with the topic of this thread? If you felt this was such an important insight worthy of posting, perhaps it should have been posted on the thread you started entitled "STEALING". Sounds like a cry for attention to me.

Secondly, are you REALLY that troubled by witnessing what appeared to be a f/a (whom you admitted gave you exceptional service) pocketing a few minis, which, you cannot even prove? Seriously?? Man, I wish my life were so perfect and I had so little to worry about that I could take the same holier-than-thou, self-righteous, almighty attitude.

I certainly hope you don't lose sleep over the tens and hundreds of thousands of children dieing of AIDS in Africa, or the genocide and "ethnic cleansing" in numerous lands around the world, or that millions of your fellow Americans can barely make a livable wage while the richest executives continue to reward themselves by lining their own pockets with obscene amounts of money off the hard-working backs of the working class, or the FRIGHTENING direction in which this country is headed ever since George Dubya has been in office...

Rather than posting on this public forum childish comments like: "the responses I'm getting from you all are going to make me go tell on this flight attendant"...why don't you put your efforts to better use by trying to make a difference for a cause that really matters? Since, of course, you live your life to a higher standard than so many of the rest of us, and what you observed is so much worse than anything you've ever done yourself...or at least you'd have us all think.

Make no mistake, myself and many others do not condone stealing, perhaps it is just that we all see there are far more important things to be worried about, and understand there are more useful ways to expend our energy.

No I'm not! I'm saying that it is Management's job to monitor, direct & Inspect employee performance, NOT MINE!

Um, isn't that you are trying to accomplish with your "Trip Reports"? What is the difference between you posting that a crew didn't perform their "duties" and Heinrich reporting that someone stole something? Same end result if someone persude it.

OK, enough Heinrich bashing.

Heinrich saw something that left him unsettled and he, perhaps mistakenly, thought to discuss it here. However, he forgot about all the sharks in the water over here who would nip him to pieces with all their little shark bites.

What he saw probably was a theft. Could it be somthing else, yes. For example, since I always worked FC I would tell my 3rd FA (in charge of main cabin liquor)that if she had a problem with her liquor count to just come see me rather then go crazy trying to reconcile paperwork or make up the difference themself. Also, I would sometimes trade liquor with the main cabin by placing whatever was to be traded in my apron and meet the other FA overwing and trade. Neither of these seem to be in the fact pattern presented, however my examples are not the exclusive legitimate reasons for seemingly taking booze out of the cart.

At any rate, please lay off Heinrich. He didn't really precipitate what occurred and he probably didn't have any idea what folk's opinions would be on the message board.

Just let it go.

p.s. - That includes "The Truth".

This puts everything in proper perspective...nice post flyguy..no truer words could have been said on this thread.

The only individual that would get real bothered by such trivia is the VP of Labor Rleations who has nothing better to do than to come on this board to see what's being said...so he can go back and report it to JG and put another termination under his belt.

Trust me Heinrich, your fees will not be reduced over a left over snack box or water bottle being taken off the plane. It will just mean a nice BIG FAT BONUS for the Execs..including the one that came on this board.
