Teamsters In-house Tactics and Raiding American Airlines and other news etc

Sorry Frank, I haven't been following things as closely as of late. There is life outside of AA, believe it, or not, after you retire. From someone who has lived under the IAM, and TWU, I know you have to do all you can to get out from under them!!! And the IBT, is "NOT" the answeer!

The Teamsters Union has launched an organizing campaign to help the nearly 8,000 Continental Airlines fleet service employees build a strong union. The workers have been reaching out to the Teamsters.

The Teamsters currently represent the Continental mechanics who enjoy the best contract in the industry. The Teamsters understand that one of the best ways to build power at Continental to protect mechanics and their contract is to organize the fleet service workers. Also, the fleet service workers need their own strong contract to ensure fair, consistent and respectful treatment.

“The fleet service workers perform very important jobs every day at airports throughout the country and they need and deserve a strong Teamster contract as well,” said Capt. David Bourne, Director of the Teamsters Airline Division. “We look forward to working with the full-time and part-time ramp workers to help them form their union with the Teamsters. Then, we will work hard to win them a strong contract so they will have a more secure future for themselves and for their families.”
The 1.4 million-member Teamsters Union is the strongest union in North America. The Teamsters represent 40,000 members in the aviation industry in all crafts and classes. The Teamsters are the strongest union at Continental, protecting the jobs, wages and benefits for about 3,700 mechanics.

The Teamsters Airline Division continues to grow. In December, about 900 flight crew members at Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo joined the Teamsters. A year ago this month, 9,300 mechanics at United Airlines joined the Teamsters. The Teamsters also represent ramp workers at Air Micronesia, a subsidiary of Continental.
“Under Capt. Bourne’s leadership, we continue to grow our Airline Division and provide the representation workers in the aviation industry deserve,” said Jim Hoffa, Teamsters General President. “I look forward to welcoming the Continental fleet service workers to our union.”

Founded in 1903, the Teamsters Union represents more than 1.4 million hardworking men and women in the United States and Canada.

So much for them being a mechanic's union! Their just like the TWU strength in numbers B.S.we need a Union for Mechanic's run by Mechanic's and where everyone is elected and can be recalled.
