Why someone does the right thing does not matter so long as the right thing gets done.

Don't worry........Obama is doing the best things he can to awaken the Moral Majority and give them power once again to drive the perverted masses into the lake of fire.

Hey, at least the staffer he was banging was a female.

This is the part that will be interesting if it turns out to be true.

Senator Ensign was a Congressman at the time of Bill Clinton's impeachment. He called on President Clinton to resign, adding that"He has no credibility left."

Durning the 2004 Senate debate over the Federal Marriage Amendment, Senator Ensign stated that "Marriage is the cornerstone on which our society was founded. For those who say that the Constitutuion is so sacred that we cannot or should not adopt the Federal Marriage Amendment, I would simply point out that marriage and the SANCTITY of that institution, predates the American Constitution and the founding of our Nation."

I would not be surprised if the Dems are baiting the Christin right wing. The country is becoming more socially liberal. The Moral Majority crowd is a big part of the reason that the republicans lost as much as they did during the last election. Family values are a personal issue and they are subjective depending on ones POV. The sooner the Christian Right figures that out the better off they will be to get their house in order and actually have a say in running the country.

Hey, at least the staffer

was a female.
that probably makes the situation 10 times worse!... for the wife.

why?

either way its horrible to do that to someone you supposedly love. but it may have made the situation a tad more bearable had it been a man.. simply because she could at least rationalize the man was she married to is actually gay.. instead of him cheating with someone she can compete with..

her thoughts are probably is she prettier, what does she have that she doesnt, what did she do wrong to make him fall in the arms of another woman..so on and so on.

so not only is she having to deal with the cheating married spouse, she also has to deal with the fact it was another woman and then a list of "what did I do wrong" also presents itself. as opposed to..."oh he just is gay"..

you know?

what a terrible thing to do to her!

the hypocrisy of those elected on their moral high horses should really stop! its starting to get..well, old..

I was viewing it more from a political POV than a personal one.

No one really knows what either of them were really like. Their marriage may have been one born out of political expediency like the Clinton one has become for all we know. She may have been a frigid PIA for all we know. He may have been a whore mongering dog and this is te only one that he was caught with. He may have been bribing them to keep quiet or he may have been extorted. Who knows.

That's why I could care less what consenting adults due amongst them selves. Sex, drugs, rock and roll ... who cares. So long as they are not forcing their actions on others and it does not directly effect others against their will, I fail to see any reason government should have any concern.

As far as marriage is concerned, when the sanctity of marriage crowd decides to address the 50%+ divorce rate then perhaps they will have some credibility. That fact alone is doing far more to degrade the concept of marriage than two people who love each other asking for state/federal permission to enter into a contract together. When all the anti-abortion folks all adopt at least one child then they will have credibility. Put up or shut up. The hypocrisy is tiresome.

The reason the GOP lost is they are trying to be progressives and have lost their base.

you know,

all of that may be true, but being "frigid" is really not the point.

here is the real problem..

an elected official is in a leadership role..tooting the 'sanctity of marriage' horn while cheating on a spouse really just kind of displays...

no captain at helm and a ship without a rudder, that is basically all over the place..

...and they are wondering why they are losing credibility day by day?? (they are viewed as lacking leadership..)

and!

it is the "hypocrisy" that will resonate in most peoples minds.

the marriage may have some issues... but its quite one thing to attempt to convince this idea of sanctity while at the same time cheating. :disguise:

you know?

not good...

(some are just making it worse by each incident of claiming to represent something obviously they do not)

keeping a mouth shut unless someone actually practices and really believes...sanctity of marriage, is probably what would be best!

I sort of agree.

No, the reps lost because they backed an idiot for 8 years and then forced McCain to be someone he was not and stuck him with a VP who scared the crap out of the country. Then there is the fact that they preach family values and abstinence ... yet they cannot even practice what they preach. Any party that does not keep up with the times is going to be left at the side of the road. The country is changing and until the RNC becomes more inclusive and less the party of 'rich white guys' they are going to whither away and die. That would not be good for the country unless something else replaces them.

That "idiot" was your POTUS for 8 years. At least show a modicum of respect. The Office, if not the person, in your view, deserves as much.

McCain was forced into nothing. It was "his time". He was "stuck" with a Conservative Woman who scared the pants off of you, and many others. And, SHE, yes, SHE, a CONSERVATIVE WOMAN, is not going away!! Plus, there will be many more to follow.

Now you can continue with the same old, tired diatribe of "preaching" family values, Catholic Priests, not with the times, country changing......blah.....blah.....ohh.....the best....."rich white guys". That is the Demorat oldie, but, goodie!!

OR.....ohhh....nevermind......

Good Day

This looks like it could get fun. I did not realize that W Bush's solicitor general was lead council for the couples fighting the Prop 8 in CA.

Perry V Schwartzenegger

Even Cheney supports the rights of gays to marry. He goes so far as to say that people should be allowed to enter into any union they see fit.

I believe I read somewhere that one of the republican SCOTUS justices said that he could see no justification for ruling against gay marriage should it come up before the court.

I think gays might finally get equal treatment in a few years assuming the court does nt get stacked by a republican POTUS.

And no, it's not OK to call Bush a chimp. Juvenile delinquents who have the education of a 1st grader do that. I have/had numerous issues with Bush but I use his name. To do other wise speaks volumes about the speaker and their argument.
Sound familiar?

I don't think calling someone an idiot is the same as calling someone chimp or Nobama but I can see your point. My appologies.
