What's new

the great power grab

Heyyyy! Does anybody remember the 'Baker Letter'? Whereas the Local's Exec Board could claim UBB, and NOT have to show up on the 'Floor'! It seems that this practise was not PRODUCTIVE to Aircraft Maintenance and Uncle Donald wanted to CURTAIL this BENEFIT to both the 'Local' and to it's membership. Chalk up another F-Y from the folks at the Crystal Palace on Amon Carter dirty road to the TWU membership. I feel that this act was done under the cover of BK to further control us & the free flow of information from the TWU!

Does anyone know if the APA & APFA had similiar E Board positions (non working) revoked also?

UBB wasnt revoked from the TWU, only M&R. The presidents from M&R were becoming too much of a pain so Don arrainged to send us all back to the floor , and use the savings to pay for UBI. UBI is where Don gets to appoint people as he sees fit and have the company pay their salaries. So the paid UB was revoked for the guys the mechanics elect so the ATD could appoint people who will tow the line. Elected officials are being replaced by appointed ones. Now they are using the loss of UB to revoke all the Charters of the line locals as well.

TWU aka The Communist union.

Seems like a dumb move during a card drive.

Could the disbanded locals make a case for DFR here?

If you guys keep the TWU after this, well.... Nah, not gonna finish that thought.

It really doesn't matter a whit what AA's mechanics think, vote for or against - look who counts the votes. AA and the twu have the horsepower to enable any result they collectively desire.

Half of me feels sorry for the dumb bastards - the other half tells me they are getting the treatment they've asked for by keeping the butt-nuggets around to suck up their dues money and better represent the company.

#### Jim Little and Company in the ass with a bag of rusty tire tools and chain saws. Leaving that place was the best move I ever made in my life.

Tried, convicted sentenced and executed without even a charge or an opportunity to give our side. This is TWU Democracy at work?

No mention of Title II or Stores. Not only do they not have a voice in this either but they refuse to even recognize their existance.

Sad.

Clearly retaliation, the Five Locals being dissolved all voted against the contract so they are dissolving them.

Now that King Don has his UBI to dispense as he sees fit he will have his unelected, appointed minions to do as he sees fit anywhere in the system and only have to deal with one Line President.

All the arguements they are trying to spin would apply equally to the FSC system as well.

Normally Charters are only revoked for cause.

There were no charges against any of the Locals, at least not public.

Yet in absentia we were basically put on trial, convicted, sentenced and executed without any chance to respond.

Damn, Bob - I could have sworn you said once you liked the commie way of doing things ...

What your International is doing is fueling the loss of the M&R to another union, they cant be that stupid to believe their moves wont cause that.

Many here have characterized Robert Depace's actions to help NWA bust AMFA as such and "set labor back at least a decade".

They will not be able to "fluff" the list of voters this time. The AMFA committee is way more prepared this time, and the NMB as well as AMFA are already expecting them (company and TWU) to pad the list. Only this time around the NMB is aware and will be charging anyone for interfering with the vote and fines will be levied.
But it will all be fun to watch all the antics. I too think this last move by the TWU will be the nail in their coffen.

Go AMFA!! Time to fire the TWU...

They will do what they want. They always have. If you guys were AMFA, the membership would vote on National raises (as we have in the past), as well as all kinds of other inner workings of the union. This kind of behavior will continue until the majority of the membership fires the TWU and brings in AMFA. The teamsters are 10 times worse than your currrent TWU represention. I'm telling you guys, you will be overwhelmed on how much participation is required from the membership when you vote AMFA in. The membership will run the union and vote on everything from committee members to how much your local can spend each month without a membership vote. YES, it's true. Local members will have to vote on a set dollar amount that the local can spend monthly without membership vote. Example; our local 11 cannot spend any more than 300.00 bucks without a membership vote. If they want to spend more, they must call for a vote at a monthly meeting. None of this rapid spending like the teamsters do with their money laundering sceams...
Until you guys deside to do something about it, the TWU will do whatever they want. It's time for you guys to get involved and fire your union. Say it loud and say it proud when you vote. It is comming guys. So be prepared. 2013 looks to be a new start for the AA mechanics. Good luck to you all. Go AMFA!!!

HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO SIGN A CARD BEFORE THEY GET IT RIGHT !!,....this is very frustrating, its like fighting city hall,...was fed up with the TWU may moons ago Kemo Sahbee. It's almost getting to be a pipe dream now.But I'll keep signing.

Many?

AFAIK, just me.

Your post should've said "not enough people," and you coulda then tied that into how out of touch with their membership Little et al are... Bonus points if you had noted that Depace was voted out at the first opportunity, an option AA'ers don't necessarily have...
