What's new

the great power grab

I'm sure he will when the TWU is gone. Right now, he is fighting for what is right within the corrupt TWU!

The Election Process is upon us and He's going to have to decide if he wants to continue with the TWU or drop them and Join in an ALL OUT FIGHT to OUST the corrupt TWU as you put it.

Putting his Name in the Hat as they say will show us if he really wants to keep the TWU or OUST them. He can still fight the TWU Intl. as a local rep of some kind be it section chair or steward since he knows so much about contract and the workings of the TWU. Still fight for his stations members. Does not need to be a part of the sham Local created be the Intl. to silence the line mechanics.

You need to read the proposed bylaws. None of the statements you made are correct. All members will still vote on issues, meetings will still be held in all station locations, stewards will still exist at each location, each region (based on former local regions) will have VPs that administer grievance committees, and all committees and board members will have greater financial assets to draw up to represent the members who elect them.

A single M&R local with regional VPs would be the best for all members.

If its so democratic how come the members didnt get to vote on any of it?

Did the members vote to have their locals liquidated?
NO

Did the members sign petitions saying they did not want what the International is forcing down tgeir throats?

YES

Did the member vote on the bylaws?

No

So please tell us how this process is Democratic.

I love you brother

"YES" the Pres. will have to travel and there will be regional VP's. But how many VP's are there NOW? How many will be lost with this now going to ONE Local?

How many Boards slots will be lost with the closing of the line stations?

Are you asking the board members to run against there own station chairs since they lost their slots due to the one local?

Who is going to be the chairs of the class 2 stations since they will no longer have a class one regional station?

Or has the TWU figured away to let the current board members still scam a stipen
and draw $$$$ even though are NO Longer in Office Like the X Treasurer of LAX?
If there are five locals merging and they all have one VP then there will be the same number of VPs. Board members are always based on the number of members they are representing. Read the TWU Constitution. Some may be reduced but if you are concerned about negotiations, they don't participate in that process very much anyways.

The proposed bylaws have language in them to have station chairmen. You should read them. Do you even know the AMFA Constitution or Bylaws? Probably not. You are telling people to sign cards for something you don't understand or know very well aren't you? Nice.

I'm convinced that OS is actually an AMFA organizer in disguise and, I hope, and effective one. After reading Overspeed's posts, how could you not vote to toss out the TWU?

OS is exactly where he need to be-(behind a keyboard) considering he still thinks a vortex generator produces AC power.
Seriously lacking in mechanical ability.

Overspeed

I have read the TWU constitution and AMFA's as well, I do understand them.
I did know that there was language for station chairs, my question is or was since the reduction of board members is going to happen if a TWU board member was to continue to serve as a TWU officer in any position wouldn't that force the membership to change the chair if the X VP needed to run for a local chair slot and so forth as they trickle down to shop stupids. I say that since both Locals I have been with have had little to no shop steward training. Which is part the locals VP's job.

I also know that board members don't participate in negotiations, unless the local sends them in place of the Pres. The local also sends a board member to negotiations to represent other work groups if the pres. is a aircraft mechanic.

But in any case the people who go don't actually sit with company, which can be done during negotiations at a AMFA represented carrier.

As far as being nice, I am NOT, I hate the TWU and what they represent. The TWU has taken so much from the employees of AA with its give back ways.

The TWU Intl. again and still has not given Local 564 any answer as to why the X
Treasurer is still on Union/company payroll and has NOT returned to his duties as a crew chief. Thus blocking the ability of another to get to LAX or upgrade to a crew chief at that station.

The closing of the locals was to conserve MONEY correct so why the special DEAL?

Oh I had a brain fart there for just a moment that is all the TWU Intl. does is make deals and keep the membership and the officers of the locals in the dark.

Explain to us where all the dues went that was in control of this X treasurer, specially since local 564 needed to get a loan from the Intl.????????

I read through the bylaws again.

Each region will still be in charge of grievances through their VPs, there will still be board members, and the only issue is that there will be three locals left. There will be more money available for next contract negotiations. The only thing I can see is that merging in to one local for all M&R would allow us, the members, to directly elect our chief negotiator.

And I love all my union brothers and sisters including Dave, Jerry, and Ken.
