LOL

Thanks "Be Careful."

I knew better then to try to spell correctly myself....it's not like I've ever advanced past the first round in ANY spelling bee. LOL

Take a guess where all that furniture ends up. That's right, it's given to the employees to furnish our CREW LOUNGE. So stop whining about it, it's looks in way better condition then when we get. TEMPE SUCKS!!!!!

City of CLT is in the process of purchasing recliners and furniture for the pilots and crew lounges....

We raised the issue about a new position that was created in the CLUBS, a "Premier Executive Manager" which the CWA advised the committee is a violation of our scope and classification language in our CBA. Scott Kirby responded saying that these people will not be performing our jobs, that they will be meeting the high profile customers and assisting them during their travel with us. There was no explanation as to what exactly their assistance amounts to, only that they are there to ensure a pleasant travel experience for our high profile travelers. Maybe a personal escort is all they are going to be, but the CWA pointed out that the people they have hired for these jobs are being put through new hire training as an agent . It seemed very clear that they need that knowledge in order to perform "our" work on a daily basis for these elite customers. More to come on this violation very soon.

My understanding from my Club friends was that local management has nothing to do with the Club except in extreme circumstances. The Club is under Marketing and has separate management/budget, etc. This is one reason they send someone from one club to work in another city's club and pay for lodging and food so it wont come out of the local "airport" managers budget. Not the cheapest way to run a business, but you cant have those budgets comingling even if its going to save money. AFAIK there are no middle management Club people, just the club manager and the people they report to. Our Club doesnt even have an on site manager. He is responsible for several of the Clubs although CLT might be big enough to have a local on site manager. I know PHL has their own manager.

And those chairs look exactly like the last batch we got to use in our breakroom before our makeover. I'd rather stand than to be given that cr*p to use.

Put RESERVED signs on any clean chairs in the club, maybe? Direct the VIP to the concourse restroom before they get to the club? There are any number of things they can do to "ensure the pleasant travel experience" for the high profile guys.

Well, well, well look who finally arrived at the party. I simply see it as a complaint wrapped up in a comfy little thing called a question. But anyway....I think you'll have a better chance seeing the Loch Ness Monster swimming in the Delaware River than seeing a new crew room. Speaking of the new crew room has ANYONE heard a sound of a jack hammer or ANY kind of construction under the terminal where the alleged new crew room is to be? Hmmmmmm

Debbie Downer avatar... hysterical.

This managment team should jump on an AA or CO flight in FC (even on a 2 hour flight) and stop in one of the AAdmiral's Clubs or President's Clubs and they will see how trashy US is. The President's Clubs in my opinion are among the nicest clubs that I've been in. I've been in some shabby DL Clubs, but they are nowhere near as bad as the US Clubs. I stopped my US Club last fall when I realized I was getting no value for my membership. Now, I have realized I get no value for premium tickets on US and will not make those purchases on US. Tempe must be in shock that the other majors can post such huge profits when they give away the store with all of their service amenities.

Truthfully, I'm looking at ALL of my options and despite what anyone says to the contrary for me US makes the best sense out of PHL. Now if CO comes back to ACY then it's game, set, match for US Airways.

AMEX Platinum gives you AA, CO, DL and NW.

UA will sell you a "US Add On" if you must.

Only if you are flying on that airline's metal on the day you wan to use the club. So, I cannot go into DL when I am flying CO. Still, this is a great benefit for me and made my decision to fly AA and CO that much easier. Another example of how those airlines are giving me value.

It is so unfortunate that there is no quality control at USAirways anymore. Responsibility for the shambles that the airline has become lies squarely at the people in the executive suites in Tempe. It is their job to set tone and the vision and then ensure it is executed through all levels. There is just no vision. A long-time friend of mine works in baggage service at PHL. He told me recently that the company hired "thugs" and outfitted them with blue Walmart vests that say SECURITY on them so that these new recruits could "police" the shrinkage (theft) that had supposedly been occurring in PHL baggage service. These new recruits call their "homies" to pull the get-a-way car up to the curbside where they load up with customers' stranded bags and off they go...in plain sight. The airline has turned into a "ghetto." His words. Not mine.

sky high states: And, lets not forget about the CLEANERS in PHL, who quickly learned where the snacks, LIQUOR and soda's are located. Is there some reason the LIQUOR is NOT locked up with keys issued to flight attendants/caterers ONLY? Do you think that would be COST EFFECTIVE? You have to wonder what's in those black bags that the cleaners drag off the aircraft, after you've heard those cart doors being slammed in the galley. Hmmmmm.

And, thank you for posting the furniture picture. TheVanMan. That's trully pathetic. I would expect to see furniture of that caliber at a state run old people's home. Or the Salvation Army.
In fact, I've seen nicer CHAIRS sitting curb-side to be picked up by sanitation workers!!!
