Obama had recently appointed two pro-labor members to the NLRB....Republicans fumed....Why could Obama not use that pro labor influence to get us released long before bankruptcy? Have the NMB release us and if necessary appoint a PEB? Why didn''t Obama do that? I remember a picture of Little meeting Obama..
Don't forget Clinton intervening 5 minutes after the AA pilots went on strike.

A good "union man" will attempt to see past the BS and rhetoric to get honest answers re: their job and the jobs of their friends.

There's really nothing "union" about this mess at all. The company is giving the twu a second chance to deliver its people to the grinder after the 2010 football bat didn't pass after assurances it would by Steve Luis (now employed" by the twu international).

Ask yourself why the twu is the only one of three unions offering up its membership to be bent over a barrel. Aside from the obvious loss of dues income, numbers would probably allow the NYC bus drivers to oust little jimmy with his minions following closely - the solution is to again trade pay and benefits for jobs, just like 2003 - it didn't work then and won't work now.

Not only no, but HELL NO! People will get laid off either way and I'd prefer they had something decent to return to should they choose to do so AND the company doesn't get sold for parts in the meantime.

The twu doesn't necessarily have to go - the problem is the same as what will affect any other union or association after time - "give us the power and we'll take care of you". Over time, the international took care of themselves first and the membership second or later in the pecking order. That's not acceptable to me and shouldn't be to anyone else, either.

My answer to your question is I have voted no since the beginning, that being said, the AA/TWU are not in deplorable condition. They are just fine. Just ask them. A company that has full control over a union that only interested in a couple of things, an increase in the number of members so the dues flow to the international continues to continue to fund the AFL-CIO which in turn funds the Democratic Party. The second is that it does not matter what a member is any one classification earns, because under the TWU that believes all members skills are equal therefore all wages and benefits need to be equal, no matter the cost to the member. and watch the video in the above post.

You have yet to answer my questions. You have the wrong guy, if you believe I give a s**t about the political affiliation within the union. It is a waste of dues. Don't get me wrong the Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats. If you believe that the political machine has your best interest, you need to reassess your priorities.

My questions are based on what people will take advantage of and vote for or against just for some archaic idealism.
