What actions would the TWU take if the the mechanics were able to find different representation?

The TWU has over 125,398 dues payers or suckers if you will, they would not skip a beat. As far as the FSC's on their own with the twu, I think the company would end the marrige and file for divorce.

Hanging themselves would be nice ...
Yes that would be nice......

But would the TWU International Exec's have to have their pay reduced, just because a few thousand A&P's are no longer on their menu?

I would applaud a BK for the TWU. What goes around comes around!

Can't wait to rid of this cancerous organization called the TWU!

The ATD is a rather small section for the twu considering AMTs. It is us and Eagle. When not IF we leave the twu the people who need to worry about jobs are the appointed ones like Bobby "lower your expectations" Gless and Don "don't fight with them" Videtich. Either these guys go back to the floor at AA, VERY unlikely, or find another niche within the twu int. democratic machine.

When AMTs leave the twu Fleet will be able to have the twu use every ounce of afl-cio political might to get them a good contract because the twu will not have to waste that clout on us any more. Plus, after AA AMTs leave I would think Eagle AMTs would file for AMP right away. I also believe that our Stock Clerks will file for AMP too.

Why would the "others" file for different representation when the collective resources and will of the TWU will be there to take on all comers? Why would there be any reason to fear the company?

"Others" would file because AA AMTs took the first "fearfull" step of creating a craft and independent union. (The twu likes to spout off that "going it alone" is bad. Yet they never say anything about our pilots and flight attendants do this.)

After seeing that AMTs prooved the teh twu wrong (the world is NOT flat) "others" will see the positives of having people you ELECT held ACCOUNTABLE. Each card we have signed gets us closer to this first "fearfull" step. As they say in the movies "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.".

Go AMP!

Ok but what actions would the company most likely take, hypothetically?

Personally? I think that the company would realize after meeting with the three ELECTED National Officers of AMP and realizing that AMP is not a toy union like the twu and AMP will keep the membership informed of everything that concerns the membership AA will try and make a deal/contract covering the pilots then address M&E. F/A will follow and then the Ramp will be dealt with.

I think that the company will push even harder for day shift cabin cleaners to be contracted out and the twu will come out with a slogan along the lines of:

"The twu will fight for you! Just like we did for the AMTs! Now don't create problems at work, don't fight with management and lower your expectations for a contract."

Ken lay off the fire water, makes you write inane posts...

The company will require the same confidentiality agreement they always have.
If you don't sign it they will tell you diddly squat, and will continue to play the same game they have all along ,just without it.
What? you think they will be afraid of the 3 elected saviors?
You are fighting the right cause guys, but stop hurting yourselves with stupid statements.

Yeah, kinda like a local from the Northeast sending in a Bob, didn't scare'm...
Many posters here on this board have issued statements that Bob had no power at the negotiations. The main reason I recall is that the TWU International owns the contract and Bob is just a puppet. So why do you keep hammering one president from one Northeastern local? All of you including myself have had the opportunity to do something about the situation we are in. Have you all honestly taken that step? This thread is not about Bob.

Lighten up Francis....Your pal Bob holds nothing back about criticizing others within the negotiating committee and is not innocent of posting information in hopes of "calling out the dogs" on anyone who doesn't believe the Bob way.....
