If you're thinking about AMFA representation, please read the "Northwest Airlines" forum under "AMFA SOLD US OUT". Leave a comment if so desired.

To the above poster:

I do not know who you are since you refrain from identifying yourself. I would assume that perhaps you are another twu true believer who fears for his unelected position. With that said, who says AMFA sold anyone out?

Let me inform you, and others who fear the democratic process in a craft union. The MEMBERS make up the union. The AMTs knew full well what going on stike against the most anti-labor airline management would mean. The AMTs at NWA fell on their sword, just like Eastern AMTs did, to protect MY craft & profession.

If AMFA AMTs are so upset with their union where are the card drives to remove AMFA from the property? Look, AMFA fought against a stacked deck at NWA but at least they fought. What did the twu do at AA? Shared sacrifice ring a bell? Tell me, did the ATD officers take a pay cut like I did when it was my turn to share in the grand sacrifice?

AMFA sold no one out. It is cowardly SCABS at NWA that sold their souls!

yes, the likes of Jerry Sowells the TWU SPOKESMAN against AMFA, who is now a confirmed SCAB is who sold out the profession.

There is no shame in fighting and losing, only shame is accepting the unacceptable without a fight.

Of course you could always rely upon the likes of Dennis Burchette who has his hands in the company pockets (who knows what he does there) all the time to dictate your future.

Just a quick question because I really don't know..........

Did Delle and his cronies take a huge cut in pay......did any of the amfa higher ups lose their jobs????

Just curious.

P.S. How many original amfa members left at NWA to even vote????

You know, these kinds of comments are really juvenile Informer. Is there a reason why you CAN'T keep from making them? There are several people here that do this. Grow up already!

Did Jim Little and his cronies take a huge cut in pay......did any of the twu higher ups lose their jobs since the biggest concessionary deal in the history of labor????

Oh look another "hater". You know, Ken wants to defend amfa and it's leaders but in all reality they have done the exact same thing he is complaining that the TWU leaders have done. It's a bit hypocritical don't you think? All-beit, the TWU did lose heads but not near the amount NWA has under amfas watch. I simply find all this crying about the TWU amusing for the simple fact that NOONE(and I have brought this up on more than one occasion!!) can come up with a plan or solution to what they are griping, bi*ching and moaning about. New union, new union, strike, strike? THEN WHAT?????? Who's gonna run this new union? You get some militant, vigilante in there and you can kiss it all goodbye. Just like the NWA mechanics did. I would venture to guess that most of the haters who post here would not even be interested in taking a leadership role in the union. Let someone else do it. It's easier to place blame that way which is exactly what is happening right now.

Why does the truth always bother you?

Burchette is the one who claims to place his hands in the companies pcokets, are you on his ass about such comments?

Why wait until after the fact to get ours back? Why not negotiate a guarantee that if certain goals are met will get ours? We gave away the farm in 2003 and now we give more everyday without one single guarantee fo anything, including the job that you are so "lucky" to currently have.

I once heard a fellow ask Burchette what was his plan if the company said "NO" after we filled their pockets with cash. His answer...

"I'm willing to go Nuclear"

Now what does that mean Bill?

Does that mean a new t-shirt with a mushroom cloud just before negotiations?

The comments I make are a direct reflection of our leadership and they are not worthy of more than this, in fact they are not really even worthy of any consideration period.

Been there, done that--and will be running again soon under whatever union is here, although this one still sucks. Still doesn't explain the massive raises the Intl. has received since the concessions.

Dell and all of his "cornies" pay is tied directly to the AVERAGE pay of ALL the members. If a group takes a pay cut or say a commuter airlines goes AMFA there pay changes accordingly.

Can you say the same for the TWU?

The AMFA is far from perfect but is head and shoulders above the TWU and IAM in terms of pay for officers and accountability.

It is a good union policy that officers shouldn't earn so much that they drift away from the members.—Harry Bridges

I have had the opportunity to speak to both Little and Dell-Femine. Both are smart individuals. The problem is that there are too many cowards in our craft. All bark and no bite. Imagine trying to lead a bunch of cowards into battle. All talk and very little action. That is our industry problem. All bark and no bite. The hangars are crawling with turncoats. One day a guy is a union officer. The next day he's wearing a tie. What a joke.

Or even worse, one day a union officer the next he's a scab.

And the pilots, stewardesses, cleaners and baggage handlers.

...If you think ANYBODY and any other labor group will support your strike (if AA mechanics ever came to that) YOUR CRAZY. Because AMFA isn't AFL-CIO they all used that excuse to cross and continue on their merry way.

As far as AMFA is concerned, you have to ask yourself why a union would bring back a tentative agreement that didn't guarentee NOT ONE SINGLE JOB! However they're back on the property representing the SCABS.

You'll hear stuff like "well that's what the members wanted... that's why they voted the way they did", that's a bunch of B.S. Let's see, not a single job saved and a pay raise for the SCABS (1.5% per year for the next 5 years).

Don't kid yourself, AMFA is a joke. I whole heartedly supported them at NWA when they won over the IAM, they talk a good talk, however actions speak much louder than words. The company played AMFA like a deck of cards, and they got their a$$ kicked, do you trust your future with a handfull of amatures?
