Your conspiracy might hold up if it weren't for the fact that the head of the VC running the show is a Democrat, and Dick Gebhardt's son sits on the board that voted to liquidate. Why would they want to make Romney look good?


I fail to see where this had nothing to do with Romney's history. It has to do with a company and union leaders that hadn't adapted to economic gravity...

When they filed for liquidation, Hostess had half the employees (~18,500) that they did when Pharaoh was anointed (~36,000 in 2009?).

Between the economy, a product line that had been singled out by the first lady as evil, and a bunch of legacy work rules that were never dealt with during a rash of acquisitions (e.g. certain product lines couldn't be carried on the same truck as others), the company eventually collapsed under its own weight.

Again, very similar to GM... SUV's and trucks are bad, Volts are good... Protect the UAW, punish the non-union workers.

Honest ly do you think Obama (A documented bankster) cares one wit about Union workers? he has your money, he's reelected and he doesn't need you now. The Banksters give more than those of you in the Union, so you get less. Just like the hand loading days when they paid you by the ton.

Maybe union members will start demanding leadership that helps companies survive instead of killing them off. Maybe more union workers will come to understand which is the better choice for them: working zero hours per week at x-dollars per hour or 40 hours per week at x-y dollars per hour.

Maybe, just maybe, it will dawn on Americans that the same stubborn and ultimately destructive denial of reality that brought down Hostess and possibly killed the innocent Twinkie is the same willful madness that we see in Washington, where ALF-CIO boss Richard Trumka flatly opposes government spending cuts and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid refuses even to consider Social Security reform. Like the bakery union at Hostess, these powerful national figures seem ideologically incapable of recognizing the simple fact of life that they want more than the country can afford. Call it folly or madness or whatever, but if we don’t wake up and change our ways, there will be far more economic destruction than just the loss of the venerable Hostess brand.

It's certainly been implied. She's said she won't go as far as putting warning labels on Twinkees, but it's pretty clear she wants "parents to know what's in the Twinkee, and how much of that can we eat?"...

Call it what you will. I'm of the opinion that whenever the Obama's say they're not looking to restrict something, it's best to be prepared for the exact opposite to happen.

And to be clear, I have no hatred of the Obamas. I simply have contempt for their agenda. There's a world of difference.
