Again the marketplace determines the pay for certain qualafied personel.
This is not what Ual management wanted to do, but what they had to do to keep key people who work on critical systems to stay.
I am surprised to see Ual management realize what they had to do before the whole crew left and they would have to start all over again with new employees.
Could they be getting smarter? Let''s hope so.
Now how are they going to turn attitudes around on the people who feel they have been screwed by management? When they do this, the company will have a chance of surviving.

Jim, Jim, The "marketplace" determines pay for "certain" personell ?? Hardly, A "Rubber Stamping" bankrupcy judge made that determination. You talk about working on "critical" systems ? I dare say this company had no problem forcing concessions from pilots and mechanics who''s work is every bit as critical [and more]as your group of "certain personell". Whenever you take from ONE pocket and GIVE to anothers, [especially in bankrupcy],,"turning attitudes around" is simply not going to happen. Common sense is not that common any more.On 7/19/2003 10
