EWR. We have a large kitchen here, so I know how things work.
The drivers now have the same uniforms that we on the ramp wear, except they have purple accents on their sleeves instead of blue that the ramp wears.
I know a lot of people that came to the ramp from Chelsea. It is definitely an upgrade, but you will start from the bottom (Occupational Seniority). The good thing is that you keep your Company Seniority for vacations; boarding; and furlough purposes. So a one year member can have three or more vacation weeks, instead of the standard two, due to their company seniority. But if the food division gets outsourced, they will lose everything. If things go south, more people will try to get to the ramp (which I would recommend) if they want to keep flying or remaining with the company.
Like every other job nowadays, people are needed.
