United Mechanics Contract

Well we are getting close, anyone have a hot or cold feeling on this? Hopefully a no, it would be terrible for the rest of the industry.

Really need UA, WN and AA to hit the ball out of the park, but the only one i have faith in is WN. I figure the IBT and IAM/TWU jokes will continue to screw mechanics over.
The powers to be are dragging this whole process out. They promise us Delta plus seven now it's delta plus three. They meet for a week take a week off then meet for a week take another week off. Discuss all the BS articles like bulletin boards and uniforms. The Pilots flight attendants and passenger service all got big raises last year the mechanic and related are once again getting the shaft. Still waiting maybe by 2018....

That's what happens when the weak minded listen to the union. They allow the union to think for us and instill fear if we try to question or put forth any resistance. Now we have to sit back and swallow the poison pill.

O. There you go again. Going after the IBT now huh? Watch out man. They bury people under Stadiums.

I'm talking TWU. Referring to a comment made by AA-MRO. You can throw the IAM in there if you wish. These guys have their hands full with the IBT.

Ever think of trying the IBEW? I know you do work with electrical wiring. Try every card you can bro.

If any of you hillbillies think that the UA M&R is going to hold the line to keep compensation and work rules in check (much less advances) , you are "ALL" in for a surprise.
UA M&R are just the same (or worse) in capitulation as 'all' the industrial unions.

"Da pepple" know their unions suck.
And they can't do a damn thing about it.
(Believe me, we tried to change the 'union' from within but hammered by 700/Weasel types.
Membership believes their malarkey, half truths and outright 'lies'.

Just like "ANY" M&R in the industry.

Unions need to change their strategy and core concepts.
Blaming 'everyone else' for failure is untenable.

Agree xUT.

Back in the late 90's when we were asked to come across the ramp and talk with the SFO guys about the AMFA, we found some of the neutered group. They would have fit nicely in with some of the Tulsa group now. Ostrich mentality...now buyers remorse.

Also agree.

Less "we got this," and more direct action would go a long way...

Also: He who wins screen time on a millennial's phone wins the battle. Labor ignores that at its own peril...

You got hammered by me on the AMFA issue exactly because all you sold were the failures of the product you already have. The product you were selling didn't offer and still doesn't offer any alternative to failure. And if some of your guys hadn't hijacked every thread to talk about the drive I probably would have left you alone. It was extremely annoying.

BTW I hope AMFA hits it out of the park over there at SWA. I really do want to say WOW I'm impressed.

Don’t flatter yourself.

You were hardly a ‘blip’ on the anti AMFA iam/twu/ibt industrial unionistas mantra spreading lies and outright BS. Called you girly men on it numerous times, you are no more or less an industrial union apologist.

Keep working on that ‘change from within’ since you boyz created an ‘association’ without membership approval and call it a ‘victory’ for labor. That’s why you numbskulls will never get your tethers into Delta. You and your clones are quite transparent but only a few of us can see it.

When UA M&R voted in AMFA and kicked the iam to the curb many of our local iam representatives lost their sweet union jobs and were pissed about it (don’t blame them for that) but instead of trying to get the iam back, they jumped ship and went all in with the ibt. So much for ‘loyalty’.

I am still amazed how these ibt flyers (promises, unsigned) led the M&R to believe their BS.
AMFA is not for everybody as it takes membership participation to make it work.
Most are too lazy to go to a meeting.

Well, now they have the ibt. How is that working out? 😛
(Given the ibt split the SFO local).. LOL

You should be thankful that I helped the AA M&R realize that the ibt are scum, even though the twu ‘invited’ them to raid as spoilers.

I might have some respect if more of you industrial unionistas would have not crossed NWA picket lines and performed struck work (kev did that, refused to do struck work, he has my undying respect, the rest, not).

So there you have it. I am out of the industry (and have been for a while). You won’t hear from me much until start you anti-AMFA campaign again or bull #### your membership yet again.

T/A Shot down...........   87% of eligible voters voted. Out of the voters, 93% said NO.

8946 eligible
7805 NO
531 Yes

Lets see what the ibt does with this powerful tool the membership just handed them?

Some very good news to hear.  Wow! A great result for you guys.  A 93% NO vote is exactly what that offer needed.  Congrats to you guys staying unified.   Now, can you tell us if the union will ask the membership for their input and for changes? Or will they just continue to go at on their own like they always do?

Hahahaha............. that's a good one SWAMT!

It's going to go exactly how you think it ill go.  A big portion of the no vote was the teamcare ( teamster medical plan ) and this VEBA they wanted us to contribute to.

There 7 major points;
6 year duration
Teamcare
Veba
Money
Retro
Outsourcing all widebody work
Lifetime recall gone

We will see what the ibt does now?
