hey gtd when is the vote for this turd?
They tally the votes on January 25th. The voting starts at the end of this month. GT

1800 people on furlough are also voting on this contract and the company is offering them $1000 to vote yes, with the stipulation that their names will be removed from the recall list.

Just curious GT;  Although a little early, are you hearing any rumblings on how the vote is leaning at this time?  Any hints on what the hold ups are? Positives?  How are the info meetings going?  Good luck to you guys...

UA has job ads now for mechanics, and the ad says the position will work off the Continental work rules.

There's so many things wrong that it's difficult to put it here. The teamster's teamcare and VEBA is a big issue. Giving up more medical to the company. No retro. A virtual "c" scale. The end of retiree medical. Cut in profit sharing. ON and On and on. I don't care how bad anyone else claims their union is. The ibt by far is the worst. GT

Amen brother, Amen.  How long does it take for the members to this?

Well we are getting close, anyone have a hot or cold feeling on this? Hopefully a no, it would be terrible for the rest of the industry.

Really need UA, WN and AA to hit the ball out of the park, but the only one i have faith in is WN. I figure the IBT and IAM/TWU jokes will continue to screw mechanics over.

I entered my no vote yesterday. Online voting. The results arent going to be posted until Feb 16. Everyone I have talked to says they are voting no.

I would have agreed with that 10 years ago, but it looks like SWA is in no hurry to negotiate. Apparently the employees are ok with that, planes keep rolling.

As far as the UA contract, it is full of concessions. At a time when airlines are making record profits, they are asking for more. The concessions may primarily affect new hires, but it is still a concession and has value.
**VOTE NO** AMTs have given up enough, and should be getting work back that was peviously lost!

I mean the union itself. The company isn't sitting at the table with them because, unlike the others, AMFA isn't willing to take concessions

Only 2 weeks left to wait to find out the voting results on this complete piece of crap contract proposal
