I've pm'd you before bubba....sure you don't remember....TUL.
Although that's likely to change depending on what/where I go next(& with whom).
Like I've said, ups has been a big eye opener.
I have slept since then, but I knew you have, just forgot the location.  I know you've been around alot, but if you want to get back to Tx., SWA will be hiring for the new EPIC and overnight maint. coming.  Some will be in Dallas, but those slots usually, but not always, goes first. I have also heard Houston will get some head count as well.  Keep looking on a daily basis.  Dallas may not be one of the first choices, but you can always take another city and bid Dallas as openings come available.  I think about 10 or 12 were hired this month and last month.  Every month for this year they have hired mechanics.  Good luck in what ever you decide to do.

I just hope the offer from UAL is somewhere around what the fed ex guys are making.  Still cannot believe that not one iota of pay has been leaked yet.  The quietness of this contract offer alarms me.  teamsters love to brag out loud.  I will update you with ours when we get it.

D757, here you go. Not a great update, but at least they finally talked about the maint program and how it will look in the future. We must get the grand picture of future maint prior to any offer coming to the members. As you can read from below the union will receive info by Sep. 15th on future maint. at SWA. Then they will set more dates after that.  Another speed bump in the long 4 years plus of negotiations for us.  You guys will more than likely get something long before we will. Good luck...

AMFA - SWA Technician Negotiations Update #45

From the Denver local 455 page:  Sept 2.

The committee met to continue the process of reviewing and writing the language associated with the recent Agreement in Principal.  Items of concern were discussed over the course of two days of meetings. These items will be presented to the company for proposed change. After these suggested edits are finalized they must be reviewed by the committee before a TA can be achieved.  The process will continue until the IBT and UA agree upon a final draft.  At that time, a TA will be reached and presented to the membership.
The committee asks your patience while we go through the process of ensuring that a proposed contract reflects the spirit and intent of the items we’ve agreed to in principal. As the parties are still under the NMB gag order until this process is finished, no details will be released until a TA is reached. There will be work done over the next two weeks in an attempt to complete this process. Please watch the Dispatch for further information regarding upcoming meetings.

D, I fully understand the waiting until the final language is finalized. No one, absolutely no one should vote on a contract without "all" language in writing.  Unlike what the TWU pulled over on the AA mechs in the past.  I guess we wait for another 2 weeks for what they are offering you guys.
As you already know we won't meet until some time after the 15th of Sep. for another mediated nego's. I am guessing more like late Sep. or maybe early Oct. if were lucky.  It will be interesting to find out the operational out look for maint when the Max and EPIC maint program kicks in.  Glad to see our nego's take the time to get this info before anything what-so-ever comes out for a vote.  Scope is the biggest issue at hand here with us, not focusing on the $$$ as the co. wants us to...

It's obvious at least one of the parties doesn't want to get caught up in a game of leapfrog as it would not be all that hard to release a bullet point summary. Southwest/AMFA/Mediator releases bullet points, United/IBT/Mediator gag order.

It's kinda odd.  Our co. says our offer is 5% over AA and United. So our co. already knows what UAL offer is.  And if they are correct about being 5% above both, then that would tell me that both AA and UAL is at 48ish as our current offer is 50ish at DOS.  I have a feeling the offer is equal to AA's and that my friends is why we are not hearing any chest pounding and celebrations coming out of the teamsters camp.  All this is just my opinion and I don't want to start any false rumors, but this is what you get when people are not informed with facts when a gag order is installed, you get everybody guessing and scrambling which also creates the restlessness that D757 has posted about.
AA's offer is not the finished product. Their raises are until the contract is finished and the wages are still gonna be nego. so if UAL's offer is the same as AA's you guys may wanna think about that for a minute.  With all that said, it was posted that rumors of 50's were going around and if that comes true then MR's comments that were being offered 5% over both AA and UAL is complete B.S.
Hey Birdman, I don't know if you heard this a while back, but I remember just before Sokol left SWA he told the nc that they could afford to pay us as high as 65 per hour, but that would be the absolute top out and no more room for future raises and they wouldn't do that and would rather put that away for the next contract.  I don't remember the exact wording but something to that affect.  I still say they need to do more "tweaking" on economics and language both.  I refuse to give in on LOA #1 it has way too much to give up. 4th line, headcount, % mechanic to a/c, shop and certain work location guarantees.  We will see where the speed bumps were coming from at the next meeting. With Babbit gone if we too get a lot of movement then we will all know. Their current offer doesn't even get us about what UPS and Fed ex are making now, and they will soon get their contract and move up around 60ish. I know our co. can do a little better than they are offering, especially for what they are asking for. They just wanna try to get it on the cheap and that is not going to happen.  An offer of a normally offered average of 3% per in good or bad times, and they want all our scope and language, Cmon man get real SWA.  Our NC is doing fine by not bringing anything out to "test" the waters. I disagree with Druckmillers comments that the co. should put it out. Hell, he's what 70 something?  That wouldn't be looking out for the new guys at all.  He'd probably retire the day after we got the contract, you know, that IGM attitude...

Union committee voted that they dont have a TA

Here is the union update. Looks to me like the company changed things in between the AIP and the writing of the contract.

Negotiations Update
September 16, 2016
The IBT negotiating committee met on September 15th and 16th to discuss answers to many
questions that were raised after the Agreement In Principal (AIP) was reached. At issue were
several items that came to light with the full draft language from the company.
As reported before, the complete language from the company was sent to the committee shortly
after the AIP was reached. The committee set to the task of comparing the document line by
line in order to verify the language that was agreed to. As a result, a majority of the CBA is
complete, however during review the committee realized that some changes were not clear.
Some of these noted changes are settled as a result of questions posed to the company, and
others required additional meeting time. Each of these changes were somewhat subtle on their
own merits, but together, all of these changes created some concern for this committee.
As a result, your committee has voted, and the decision has been made that we do not have a
Tentative Agreement at this point. The Agreement in Principle still stands, as well as the NMB
gag order. The NMB has directed the parties to meet at their offices in Washington, D.C. on
September 26th to discuss the issues.
The committee appreciates your patience as it is understood that this process can be
frustrating. The committee believes it is better to get the items right rather than to rush through
this process and we ask for your continued solidarity and patience while this process comes to a
conclusion.

Company HR trying to be sneaky changing things to screw us over as usual.

There's no reason why a bullet point economic disclosure couldn't be released. The NMB owes the membership an explanation as to why they are holding information hostage that has nothing to do with a few "subtle" issues.
