What's new

US 734 at Tampa makes hard landing.

Now that 443 has ferried back to CLT for additional inspections and repairs, can anyone shed some light on the extent of the damage? Besides replacing the nose gear and the right engine, it looked like there might be some structural damage as well. Heard some talk among mechanics and pilots that the plane landed nose first. Properly configured, that is a hard thing to do. I don't want to spread unsubstantiated information here, but it wouldn't surprise me if this bird makes one more flight to Mohave.

What say you?
Clt or Pit has the mechanics that can fix it. It would be up to the company to let us. We can fix anything. M&E, heavy maitainance has taken on many huge repairs. Its no biggie.

O.G.

This just in: Passenger Billy Mays who blogged about hiting his head in the landing and wrote: "You can always count on good old usairways.." as a nasty little aside.

Mays did die of a heart attack and not the landing but today's news says it was Cocaine that caused Billy's death.

Not quite...

"While heart disease was the primary cause of death, a report released Friday by the medical examiner listed cocaine as a "contributory cause of death." (Associated Press)

Knowing this will somehow make him less dead? Good Lord allow the man to rest in peace

Please.

If it was revealed that he died from OH compartment luggage falling on him, you'd be all over these boards crucifying US.

so he was coked up? well call off the crooked lawyers no money to be made there
