What's new

us airways or delta?

Unfortunately the poster MIGHT be correct in their assesment. I can ony speak to another fast food chain and my friends rise through the ranks.

She started @ $6.00/hr. in Sept of '01, through her hard work she is now General Manager of a store and will earn pretty close to $45,000 this year, closer to $50K in '06.

So ask yourself how long does it take to reach Top of Scale as a Res agent, F/A, Ramp, etc? and is that Top of Scale where you want to be?

I'm sure that your friend cannot fly to London on a whim, however.

i'm workin in customer service and i'm pretty much workin at airlines cuz i think its fun and plus i love to travel...so umm for travel benefits mainly hehe
are you serious or are you kidding with this answer?

With 3 children she couldn't fly to LGW on a whim no matter where she worked.

ROFL......he usually takes it with a "side" of CROW. 🙂
You guys can have all the fun you want at my expense, but bitter is not in my world, empathy for your sorry butts certainly is.

Working in the airline industry today equates to heart aches, sorrows and constant uncertainty. You can sugar coat it all day long trying to explain away how much you love it, but truth be told you people are there for one reason only, money, which is a scarce commodity in that world.

I now have the best job that I ever had in my entire life. Great wages and benefits plus the added bonus that I actually look forward to going to work unlike the dread I felt everyday of my life when I was part of the airline industry. You can have that life and their money sucking unions that take more than they give. Spend all your time on these boards giving each other hope when hope is a virtue you will surely need working in that industry, hope and a LOT of prayer living the turmoil you chose to be your life.

Bittersweet is what I feel these days while sad reading these boards knowing damn well that you people are all in for a big let down in your future. The only thing uncertain is the exact time your fall will occur, that has yet to be determined. While you fret your life away wondering when the hammer will fall, and fall it will shattering your dreamland made of the glaring glass blinding your view and minds of reality, you can criticize me until you’re blue if this will help distract you from your true reality.

Curt -

Isn't there a GE message board that you can go spew your words of wisdom on?

US Airways is still your best bet. Delta is to unstable right now. 🙂

Wisdom? Nah....sorry it's bitterdom and only you can change that. Sorry folks for the intermission on the subject. 🙂

Be smart get out of the airline business now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with all that new hire seniority, you're surely heading places... 😱

US would be the best bet, imo

Free travel used to be a perk...fairs are so low anyony can buy a pos seat on line...forget NRSA...the true perk of this company is the health care it is a great deal even with the incress in 06

I realize that the McDonalds wise crack was supposed to be humorous.

I know of someone who started out as a worker bee and leveraged himself into owning a store (not McD) in about the same time it would take to reach max scale at an airline. Hard work? YES!

Take a look at where the flights go. Pick the airline that has fun destinations. Have fun for a few years, but don’t think of it as a career.

I’m really curious as to what is being said in the interview process these days. How does it go?
