Granted, though there's actually two bars - the prospective employee has to meet the company requirements and the job/pay/benefits/working conditions have to meet the applicants desires. Since they're still having the open houses I guess they're having trouble.
Many many of them have already moved on. We have some people still on furlough, but I doubt more than 1 or 2 at the most would come back and even that would be a high speculation for $9/hr. Most of the ones we have on recall have been gone for 2-3 years and a couple have even dropped off the recall list they've been gone so long.
The Company wants to fill all of the open positions in PHL prior to outsourcing the 20+ Class 2 Stations. This way they can place all of those employees on furlough telling them there are no open positions for them. Once the 60 days pass, they will offer them positions for the starting rate. Can't anyone here see what they are up to??? Why would you hire anyone knowing that displacements are coming very soon?
