Cry all you want. You guys on the East have NO CLUE, whatsoever of how bad our RSV's are treated on the West. Make way less, work nothing, tagged all the time, and now they have a hard time picking up trips do to conflicts with our wonderful Maestro crap system. Our sick bank is useless if you work more than 75 hours. As lineholders we are still making less, on an old America West crap contract. And you guys cry about bk's concessionary cuts still? We were never even close to your "old" payscale! :blink: And the majority of our PHX base is topped out at 38 dollars?! MMM. After 25 years? NO wage increases, period! Give me a break! No joint contract in site either. Have I also told all of you the amount of flying WE actually work in a given day!!? Try working 11.22 actual BLOCK CREDIT, 13 hr duty, in one day on the end of a 3, 4 day trip! No crew rest, or meals, minimum fa's on those LONG days!! LAS-ANC-LAS, or SFO-PHL-PHX anyone?? International never looked SOOO good.. :shock: Work harder, and get paid less is our Reality! :down: 🙄

Actually, one of my best friends is on RSV with the west side and I DO know it sucks. In addition, we went out with some of the F/As "from the other side" on a long RON a few weeks back and shared horror stories. BOTH of our RSV systems are awful and I know because I live it every day. So, yes, we DO have a clue or at least I do. Don't make general assumptions with me.

A Westie posted some time ago that the high-time one-days went really senior because you get more time in fewer days. She said, "Try it, you'll like it". Why in the world would anyone kill themselves? What kind of quality of life it that? That's no fun at all; it's enough to make you quit. I don't understand this mentality. A good trip is one that pays the max for doing the minimum. I guess this is just my opinion. I once picked a PHL block that worked 11 days and paid 88 hours. It did one-day Caribbean turns. It looked really good on paper. In reality, those turns almost killed me. I don't know how you all do that in the West.

Did you guys see the new 3 month offer for January? They should offer one really long one instead of multiple short leaves. If the company offered something remotely close to VF1, you'd see a mass exodus. They said that the current crisis has a worse impact on us than 9/11. They should make the leaves more attractive or at least in line with previous VFs.

The bottom line, our SENIORS like Transcon turns, or PHX EAST turns everyday! PHX-JFK-PHX, or PHX-PHL-PHX. Okay for a one day trip, not on the end of a 3, or 4 day! The company has taken advatage of the East flying by making us work CLT-SAN-CLT, SAN-PHL-SAN, etc., because it is easy for them to put on our pairing trips. High time, which we call the "cartell", pick up all the turns, hawaii, and senior flying at the begining of the month, just so they can Work up to 140 hours, maybe have 8 days off????!! Not for me, and not getting payed enough!!

A Westie non-rev explained that it was preferable to work really hard trips and be home more. That's good and all, but your quality of life on the job is worth something too, isn't it? Thank goodness we don't have to fly more than 8-domestically. It's not safe.

Any more announcements for 2009 leaves out West?

Yes, but how bout on the West to do 4 West Coast turns, IAD, PHL, EWR, JFK, BWI, a month, and be off 22 days?? :lol: 😱
 
There are all kinds ways to define Quality Of Life. I thought I had it pretty good commuting to back-to-back redeyes, sometimes picking up a third redeye.

Of course, when I quick doing stuff like that I was surprised how much I felt better physically.

You're talking about doing one leg, resting for 30 hours, and then doing the return leg (repeat). Those trips are fun.


Any one putting in for the furlough besides me?
