Watch Arpey Vs. Kelleher

I would rather see Crandall instead of Arpey at the hearing.

I've watched Carty a couple of times on CSPAN and he was great. He made the other CEOs look like children.

It will be interesting to see how Arpey will handle it. I think he'll hold his own and come out looking pretty good.

Hey look at that, we're bringing ECLAT to testify, what an embarassment.

Anyone want to wager a bet that Jim Little or another TWU lackey is seated near him?

I would agree. He was less than exciting in the press release of their study.

Possibly a first. Seeing a panelist blowing a kiss to another. Thank you Herb for blowing a kiss to our mr Arpy.

I'm so bummed...I can't get Real Audio to connect from work.

How's the hearing going? Anything big come out of it yet?

Windows problems? Time to look in to a MAC.

Hearing went well. Lots of laughs and jokes. Herb was pissed for a short time with Mr. cox for pulling a quote out of context about keeping DAL open.

Sides were set and no minds changed. Well, said and spoke by all panelists. Mr. Arpy did very well answering Mr. McCains questions/ assertions about AA, DAL and DFW

The committee is in recess right now. Both sides gave valid and convincing testimony. DFW Director Cox has given Southwest some nice incentives to move to DFW. Free rent for a year being one perk.

Basically, Southwest does not want to get into a dogfight with AA at DFW. They would rather have AA split its DFW operation and force AA to bear the cost of moving and operating out of both airports.

I caught a bit of it too. Both sides are obviously invested in this issue. I also thought that the folks who spoke on behalf of AA and maintaining Wright did a nice job of answering questions and bringing up good points. Glad they underlined that Wright was a compromise to begin with...

I posted on the SWA board, but wanted to add that I thought Gerald did a great job today. Very well spoken and just looked like a leader. Impressive!

🙄

Let's see...does AA really have to move ANY flights? They keep argueing that DAL and DFW are the same market and that is why they claim that DAL would siphon from DFW. If they're the same market, you don't need to move flights. And besides...even if they moved a handful of flights, why do we give preference to AMR when they are trying to get WN to move ALL flights to DFW (which would probably mean a headquarters relocation b/c it makes no sense to not be close to the airport that you are operating out of). So if I were to add it up...AA moving a few flights vs. WN moving ALL flights and potentially their HDQ...well...there is no fuzzy math there.

But I surely do hope we keep protecting AA and that DFW keeps offering empty gestures. Can they also give WN quick turns and ensure that WN gets consideration equal to AA on any issues affecting airport operations? Don't think I see that anywhere and don't think I ever will.

Unfortunately it is b/c I don't have the ability to load RealOne onto this computer...regardless of PC or MAC.
